I have McAfee (Internet security suite I think) and it never gave a warning. All of a sudden I had this thing popping up saying my computer was infected and to push the button to remove it all. So I clicked the red X to close it. It keeps popping up an makes a screaming noise. There is also an icon on my toolbar (the one with the clock). I also checked my programs, its not under Programs in the control panel but there is something towards the top of my program list (after pushing the start button), like its a legit progam or something. I have Vista, if that helps any. Anyone heard of this? Im pretty sure its spyware of some kind but I cant figure out how to remove it. McAfee is scanning now, I decided to do the full scan, which could take a couple of hours. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

I had my nephew the computer guru come in & work mine over. He had to shut McCaffey's down as it was infected & he couldn't remove it. He also added Mozilla Firefox as my internet connection instead of Internet Explorer as it seems they are being infected over & over again. I've had no more problems since he did this. I had the defenders running full time & no matter what we did, my Mccaffeys would not scan all my programs, it would go so far hit this virus & shut down. He's coming back this weekend to put virus protection back on, going with Norton's this time.

i called my internet provider to see what help i could get
they told me to do that going back a few days that helped till he told me to do a mal ware scan and i TOTALLY WIPED OUT MY COMPUTER
i had to have windows XP put back on here
just glad to be back up and running
but man i still have a mess but i deal with it

Of course now I have to update everything since that system restore (4 days worth of McAfee & Windows updates all on sloooww dial up). McAfee didnt catch whatever it was that caused it to download but I have Webroot AntiVirus & SpySweeper, it caught 3 virus that all had the same name in it as the danged popups that kept scaring the crap outta me (they literally would scream). Even now I am gettin error message after error message about IE & my wireless network control stopped working and had to be closed. So very annoying. Told my Mom about it and she said its a very nasty little thing, wish she was here, she could fix this for me! LOL Thanks so much for all the help everyone, hope it gets fixed soon.
