As a child , I grew up poor, out in the country at Greenfield, TN
There was an elderly lady that would feed all of us kids .. that
stood in her front yard to catch the bus..
I had watched her many times feed alot.. with just grease, flour and water..
making biscuits and gravy.
That is a special memory for me.. and I loved her cooking so much .. and
appreciated not going to school hungry.
Now I realize it was not the healthiest.. but when you have nada to eat,
health risks are not the issue of the moment..
That woman lived to be over 100 years old.. died a couple years ago.
