and they just snap. Lots of them have been deployed over and over and over and a person can only take so much. But if your time is not up you gotta do your job or you go to jail. Its a hard reality, its like they are not treated like humans but robots....I am so so so sad over this,I cannot imagine the hurt of the families. Living the military life you always fear something "may" happen but for it to actually happen...I just cant imagine. I dont know how the base is going to function, I mean I know they will do it, but I cant imagine how they will pull themselves together and keep going. Most of the docs on base are well known by almost everyone, I am sure over 50% stationed there crossed paths with this doc at one time or another. I cant imagine the victims, if they were possibly on the verge of deployment as well, if they had their minds in the right place and were set on getting it over with and focusing on their return home, if their families put their minds in a place of acceptance before deployment and focused on the return home and now THIS? like if he was talking crazy why was nothing done about it? Why was he allowed to still see patients...maybe there was, I dunno for sure in this instance but I can assure you our armed forces do not do what should be done for our guys...there is so much that never even hits the news, things of a lesser magnitude but trust me, my husband has had more "man overboard" alerts during his time in the navy where an alive man wasnt recovered from the waters. I know what ya mean girlie, my hubby served in the Marines during the first Desert Storm Iraq, Kuwait and other countries during differnt conflicts over the years. It's so hard for some of them and there is so much stress and pressures for them to endure. I really have alot of respect for our service men and women. All we can do is pray and hope for healing. What happened today is very bad. I'm afraid the government will now clamp down on personal weapons owned by military personnel. The Homeland Security report stated the government has concerns that "unhappy" soldiers will become extremists (this is outrageous). The gunman who is still alive was educated as Bio-Chemist and turned Psychiatrist, grad of VA Tech. I don't think we'll ever know the complete story to why this happened.
