My daughter is in iraq and i talked with her yesterday. She said they are trying to to take up donations so they can buy ornaments for their tree. Someone is donating them a tree this year, so they can feel somewhat at home. So please ... I am NOT asking for money, but for christmas ornaments. If you have any extras,and would like to send them please let me know. I will email you with the address.

travel size items - great for when they are off base
sun tan lotion
lotion
face lotion with sunscreen
deodorant
chap sticks
foot powder
foot spray
Hand sanitizer
FDS feminine powder
sanitary pads & liners
cottonelle wipes or similar
canned meats, soups
snack foods
Nissan cup a soups
peanut butter
jelly (no glass jars though)
hard candies (chocolate melts) - I get chocolate flavored :D
gum
mints
socks that absorb moisture - I found these at Kohls today, alot chepaer than sporting stores
batteries
calling cards
puzzle books
silly string - helps find invisable land mines
Be careful of holiday items, they usually ask that you do not send these as they may be pulled from the box at the checkpoints
also, no political stuff or shirts with political sayings, etc...

Aerosol cans they can explode in transit and ruin your box contents this it not covered by insurance because it is a prohibited item
Firearms,ammunition,or knives
Cash,coins,securities,or precious metals in raw state

Are American soldiers furnished with any sort of pork?

all i know is if you send them something that is not authorized or that is prohibited the soldier and the person who sent it can get in trouble and the contents of the box destroyed,confiscated or thrown away.so to me its not worth it for me to spend money on something that he wont get.they have computers so they can read or write anything they want.they can have one bible just not enough to distribute or give out.when we lived on base we were not allowed to put campaign signs in our yards or protest signs.what doesn't make sense to me is now is that chaplains can't even talk about god anymore they have to be open to all religions and all gods but cannot talk about the god they serve?
