36 0|0|Anyone done, nearly done or started with Christmas gifts?|Mackiesmudder|Mackiesmudder@aol.com|02:12:21|10/29/2009|

I am moving right along on mine. Have 2 afghans done, gonna make a movie box for Amy and the baby with that, movie candy, popcorn, special glasses, a DVD or 2 and the 2 matching afghans, they watch movies together and snuggle.
I made her a journal jar
Put together a Christmas planner for next year for her from a site, printed them out and then decorated a 3 ring binder that I bought at Wal-Mart for .74 clearanced, turning out nicely
Made all of the jars for my jarred gifts for my special customers, doing dip mix this year
gotta sort out the gift closet yet, dreading that but I know I have some good things in there.
I want to be done by Thanksgiving this year, not sure what my status will be with my knee.

Anybody got any great ideas?

Cathie : ) 1|1|I'm not as cool as you with homemade gifts, but..|noway|stormybizzles@yahoo.com|03:59:22|10/29/2009|

We dont celebrate halloween so each Oct.31 we wrap gifts for those outside of our house. We roast marshmallows, play a family game, choose a movie, and order out...we have been doing this for about five years, I buy all year long to get ready, most of the ladies in the family will be getting baskets with glade candles, softsoap ensembles sets, bodywash and a body puff, most of the guys are getting axe items in a basket....I have something for just about everyone.....

I luv the stuff u have so far....you are very creative.... 3|2|I am going with the ladies we are all going shopping tomorow and then to dinner it shall be fun:) We are hitting the Christmas tree store,Burlington Coat Factory and also Bath and Body have coupons at all how cool is that:D|sarahjones|s.scottjones@comcast.net|07:00:08|10/29/2009|

(isn't it funny how we all have "that" closet).

When I buy the gift, I put a sticky note on it right then that has the name of who I bought it for and what occasion it is for (ex. Katie, XMas) I put the sticky note on the edge of the item, so when I am looking on the shelf, all the sticky notes are facing me and I can easily read them.

I also have a shelf of gifts that say "extra" and then list on the sticky what the item is (balt salts) so I don't ahve to pull the box out to see the contents. It makes it really quick to grab a last minute gift for someone.

My son will be leaving for grad school the week after Christmas. He's going to Israel, so it makes no sense to load up the Christmas tree and stocking with stuff since he can't take it. He needed a laptop, so that was his graduation gift. He needed a traveling backpack which I already gave him so he can scientifically figure out how to get the most in that puppy. Then I need to get his plane tix, which I really need to do this weekend. He has enough clothes for a small nation (and most of those will remain at home). Gift cards are out because, well, I don't know if there is a WalMart in Jerusalem!!! I just don't feel the spirit this year. I'm very sad and depressed about it. 6|2|Robin - get a Skype account for him for Christmas so he can call more frequently - or calling cards. Also, lots of ppl keep in touch via social media - even if he Twittered you could keep tabs on him. Sorry you're feeling so sad, I think I would be too.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|09:19:31|10/29/2009|

I did manage to get my daughter a shirt at JCPenny's today with the $10/$10 coupon so only paid $2.12 for that. Got her a pedometer/game thingy from Seventh Avenue a couple of weeks back with a $20/$20 or more code. It was originally $49.95 clearanced to $22.95 and I got it for a little over $8.00 with the coupon and shipping charge. Pluse got her some really nice hardback books where I work for .33 each, got 5 of those. So she has 3 gifts so far. I have to budget best way I can because there just isn't any money for Christmas althought I am really going to try and start saving my change up and get her the Mario game for her Wii that comes with the wheel. She has had her Wii for almost a year and loves that game but I haven't had the money to get it. I still think they are around $49.97 and I have a best buy card with $8 on it to start me out so hoping I can save up the money and maybe a little closer to Christmas it will get cheaper or have some bonus buys with it. 13|3|Hey Connie~*~|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|14:09:28|10/29/2009|

Have you ever bought used games at Game Stop or Play N Trade? It's just a thought in case you can't get the Mario game new. My kids love going there, at first I was skeptical about it, but so far we've had good luck with their used games :) Rebekka

I was talking about the game and the wheel new is around $49 but I know Dollar General carries the wheel, bat and maybe tennis racket for $5 or so. If I end up getting her one I can buy an extra wheel there if it is a two player game. I was wanting the Fit Plus and the Biggest Looser ones also, but will check for used ones also. 16|3|I started a little.. |CJDJ112366|Lintaos@optonline.net|15:57:41|10/29/2009|

Mostly the kids stuff done, but the rest of the family likely won't do much because money is tight everywhere! Been picking up new with tags webkinz for $5 shipped on Ebay (have found 4 of them so far! Waiting to find the exact ones they want!). New and Like New PS2 Games for $5-$7 each shipped (most $5 & most still in their wrappers). Picked up a used PS2 with 25 games for only $40 shipped (no idea what games yet, we'll see when it gets here). Picked up Build a Bear clothing that are like new really cheap! Even got a New Build a Bear outfit for $5 shipped Picked up a DVD my daughter wanted for $6 shipped on Ebay BRAND NEW(would have been about $12 anywhere else). Got a Nascar Costume for my son - brand new for $11 shipped! Gotta Love Ebay!

Trying to do xmas with only money on earn on Ebay this year.

I also picked up 7 board games for my daughter for under $5 total after gift card and rebates at TRU and a baby playpen, highchair etc at Target on sale and I had a gift card So I think I'm doing pretty good so far!

I've been picking up some build a bear accessories at the store, but only when I have coupons available to use

My husband thinks I've done great this year so far I still have $75 in gift cards to JC Penney that I might use for the kids for xmas... although my daughter needs pants now since it's getting a bit chilly at night. We'll see.
