I've tried bleach water, Pine-sol, Lysol, and I've now had clumping cat litter and Arm & Hammer Scented Carpet Powder in the drawers for 3 days but no luck - they STINK!!!! I hate the smell of mothe balls so that's out....

Mix in a pail of hot/warm water: 1/4 C. baking soda, 1/4 C. hydrogen peroxide & maybe a couple or few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Then use a washrag to wipe all around the inside & outside of the dresser & drawers w/the mix. Don't rinse. You may have to repeat a time or 2, just to make sure you've covered all of it. Then afterwards, you can set the drawers outside for a bit to air dry them faster & so the fresh air is added.
This is a tried & true recipe for getting rid of skunk spray odor so you may not need the Dawn (it breaks up sticky grease from the skunk's spray), but if it works on skunk odor, I would think it'll work to eliminate mildew/musty odor. LOL

We bought these for $15 each because they looked like nice dressers from the outside but boy we learned our lesson to always open the drawers from now on and take a big whiff before buying!

Please leave me feedback if we have had a favorable trade and I will do the same for you!

works on some stuff they have to be wet also lemon juice 6|3|Activated charcoal will work, you can get it in mesh bag things at home improvement stores...or make your own with old pantyhose and a canister of activated charcoal (probably cheaper that way)....just put about a half cup or so of the charcoal in each little 'bag' you make from the pantyhose, put one in each drawer. :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:19:06|10/24/2009|

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
