We go through a gallon in half every week. I use a big pot that hold 8 quarts, I fill it with 1 quart of cold filtered water, and add 6 lipton tea bags, I leave it on the flame for a half hour,stir the tea bags well and then remove them. add 2 cups of sugar, stir well, then fill up the rest of the pot up with 5 quarts cold filtered water, stir again well. Pour into pitchers.makes a gallon and 1/2 at a time. If you add lemon juice or a slice of lemon to your glass, it tastes exactly like store bought lipton iced tea.

And they make it pretty much the southern way...SWEET. True Southern sweet tea is made with so much sugar that you could almost stand a fork upright in the stuff. The local Sonic can make sweet tea the southern way; after all, they have a recipe that the crew is supposed to follow. However, I've found that, to my annoyance, the tea ends up only being as sweet as the person making it likes it. And if you get a crew member who doesn't drink tea...the tea they make might as well be unsweet tea. So, yeah...McDonald's is top choice out of all the fast-food joints I know of. The only way to make it better is to make it at home.

About 11 years ago I decided soda no longer tasted very good, so I switched to tea. I really prefer it unsweetened. I've tried the McD's sweet tea (when they gave it to me on accident) and I will drink it if that's what is in front of me, but I like no sugar.
Now I can't stomach sodas... they taste terrible to me. LOL! That is a good thing.
