I'm running out of "not rainy" weekends and need to do one more this year so I got this big idea to have it on Saturday. I hate all of the work it takes to price/organize everything but I am hopeful it will all be worth it in the end.

I have a whole backyard full of stuff that has been under some tarps and I am dreading going out there because I suspect that at least some of it got wet. I'm just hoping it is not too bad.

If I can get myself in gear I may even do a two day and start Friday. I send emails to a couple of my regular stockpile buyers and am just trying to motivate myself to get busy. It is more fun to be on RS though! :0)

So what was your best yard sale ever? How much did you make in 1-2 days?
Mine was $350. Would love to break that record!
1|1|wow! My best one was $143.00 in one day |couponshelmd|couponshel@comcast.net|16:24:08|10/21/2009|

and then $21.00 the next day. The second day I tried a 25 cent sale... I put out all of my boxes of stuff that didnt sell the day before and BIG round signs that said .25... even then people were asking if I would take less. Ha!! Ha!! I did get rid of 11 boxes of stuff that day :)

HAVE fun and good luck! 2|1|$350 was great! My best yet was $270....not bad for being in my own driveway|blessedx5|I_am_blessedx5@yahoo.com|16:34:49|10/21/2009|

I pulled everything inside to price it (lost maybe 2 boxes total of stuff to the rain so that is something I can live with. Next time I know better than to leave anything outside), killed one black widow spider who was tagging along. And now my living room is just totally stuffed with stuff. I have way too much stuff...

I just realized I am out of price stickers. Car is not running, so I think I will walk to Safeway. I don't think they sold them there when I looked several months ago, but maybe they have masking tape or something.

I'm inspired... trying to get it all done today and tomorrow and start on fri. Already have my craigslist ad up for saturday and put that I may have a preview sale friday. I've had luck with that before...

Thanks. Vanessa 7|4|I don't use price stickers on stockpile stuff.....I use a permanent marker and write the prices big on the product, it keeps them from sticker swapping and also buying stuff from me cheap, then returning it to the store for a profit...KWIM?|carmenanderson|cloudcars@verizon.net|09:54:48|10/22/2009|

I have piles of non-stockpile stuff too, so I still have to get something to use for prices, but I may do some writing on the new stuff. Mostly I put all like items in their own box and then I write the price on the outside of the box. Since it is just me running the sale and I can keep track of what I want for things in my head, it works well.

But I hear you on people returning things...

Ps-- Safeway did not carry masking tape either. But they did have hot pink duct tape (one roll) for $9.99. And post it note tags for $10.99!!! My daughter and I laughed and laughed at that. Where are the people who pay so much for such ridiculous stuff? Crazy. Hope they come to my house... 5|1|WOW...you guys do great....|blessedx5|I_am_blessedx5@yahoo.com|17:05:02|10/21/2009|

Everything you have left, I want you to send to me. I need to have a yard sale and make some money but I dont have the stockpiles yet. And since ya'll are just ever so nice your gonna send it to me totally free. Oh, better yet, ya'll have the yardsales and just send me the money. ROFLMAO ;)

Seriously tho, ya'll make me sooo jealous! Hopefully I can do enough stockpiling over the next 6 mths or so, so come next summer I can do a couple of decent yard sales. :D

and pack it up during the winter

i sell the heck out of suave shampoo, dial soaps, oil of olay single bar soaps, soft soap,
and some food items as long as they are in date

i have lots more stuff but just can't think of the stockpile stuff

i have people that give me their unwanted yardsale items also
you could post on freecycle for that

i hauled in 4 truck loads in july of stuff and sold lots of it at my last yardsale
but when you have an outbuilding full of over 200 18 gallon totes of yardsale stuff
and a half of a basement sitting full of stuff
i am a yardsale queen as my friend called me LOL
i had a good laugh on that one

$$ ~ dont we all?? And we dont get the good q's here, so I have to trade for them. Sometime ppl are really nice, and RAOK them, which I try to pay forward in someway. Other times, ppl want so much for them, it makes no sense to me to get them from them. Kwim?? On top of it, I live out in the middle of nowhere nearly 10 miles from the closest town, so having an actual yardsale would be hard out here, but we have to get some kind of permit in town (my friend lives there and we tried before), plus the street she lives on has no parking room. LOL
