So sick of packing. We'll be moving stuff for the next few weeks. There's just no way to get it all done in this short amount of time. That said so far we have 2.5 trash bags to donate and like eight to drop at the dump.

Can you enlist the help of your kids, so that you do kind of like an assembly line type process?
When I moved the year before, my son & I sorted thru our clothes in the closets & dressers but we didn't pack those. When moving day came, we just took the drawers out of the dressers (for lighter/easier moving) & draped the clothes from the closet over stuff in the backseat of my car. Got here w/it & just slipped the drawers back in the dressers & hung the clothes back up in the closets. We had/have ALOT of stuff so not packing the clothes was one less thing to worry about. HTH a little. ;)
ETA: And yes, I had a dumpster that got jam-packed twice, the 2nd time having to lay some stuff on top or along side of it. LOL

I hired on a bunch of my teenage son's friends to help cuz they got the muscle AND the energy. They may not have been very good at organizing stuff in a U-Haul truck but they were quick, VERY careful/eager to please & toted the heavy furniture like it was nothing. LOL All I had to do was keep them supplied w/bottled water &/or soda during the moving process & then ply them w/a meal at Subway & McD's (some wanted Subway, some wanted McD's) when we were done. :)
The only peep I heard out of any of them was when one groaned, "Another box of books"?! ROFL!!

We now have a big dump pile out by the shed. Course it's pouring down rain so in a few days when he gets to take it to the dump it will be full of bugs and soaked. Just no other place to put it. We took a big van load over last night and that pretty much only moved my stockpiles. Ugh ladies this is one of those times they are a pita. I'm off to make Matt a brunch as he's been working all day and hasn't stopped to eat. The basement is almost 100% but that's the only room packed and we move tomorrow. Good thing is we only move 9 miles away. So we just take the drawers out of the dressers and move them. No packing that stuff. Sigh. Who collected all this junk anyhow.. I haven't even found my desk and I know that's on my list of projects. Last time we moved I threw everything on my desk in a box and marked it DESK then found it months later and tossed most of it lol
