We are not allowed to bring cameras to the school and take pictures anymore. The reason: Somebody could take a picture in the class of their kid and some other students, then go put that picture on Facebook or something, and that is an invasion of privacy of the other kids, so no more cameras or pictures of Halloween parties, etc.

I understand their point, but think the school is being overly cautious. They are afraid they will get sued by somebody because the picture was taken at school.

I know I don't post my kids pictures and wouldn't want my young son's picture out there, but it seems a bit ridiculous to ban cameras because of what somebody might do. Most of the parents who are there with cameras are like me, regulars at the school and we know better.

As the owner of a small town newspaper it would hurt my business. I go to school often and get photos of the kids. Parents have to sign a waiver if they don't want their kid in a photo.

If any of those kids have a cell phone....they probably have a camera. Are they allowed PHONES?
