Since I have no cable TV tonight, I'm sorry I just have to vent!

My neighbor moved out on Friday....guess who has no cable TV when they come home today from work today!!!???? ME!

3 calls to TWC telling them my cable is out and could it be that they accidently disconnected the wrong persons cable? First person didn't understand me (language problem mostly) 2nd person says "no open work orders in your area & no other reported outages". Can't explain to them that it would be a closed order if it was done today not an open order...duh! Finally the third call I made...lady says...let me look to see if your neighbor had a disconnect today that could be possible (Yeah, finally someone who understood my complaint!)...She comes back on the line 10 minutes later and says...Yep, the technician disconnected the wrong cable they disconnected yours and not hers. I'll send them back tomorrow to fix it sorry they have all already gone home for the day in your area. UGH!

So I'm w/o TV tonight and that's what I was looking fwd to...Relax and veg infront of the tube....NOT!

Sorry, had to vent I hate the cable company and now this just adds fuel to that fire.

I have to say tho that I LOVE my cable tv & internet provider as it's thru my phone co. which is right downtown, & they have 24/7 tech support. On the rare occasion there's a problem, it's almost always fixed the same day/night, w/in just a couple hrs. or so of calling. It's also quite a bit cheaper than other providers & they even include a SASE w/their bill. :) The previous/other cable tv provider, however, was/is AWFUL. It's Mediacom & the tv would be out more than on, not to mention it would take a week before they'd respond to a trouble call. SOOOO glad my phone co. started providing cable tv! :)

ETA, in response to Jackie's post about crediting your account: I sure hope you are credited for the outage as it's certainly due to no fault of your own. Mediacom wouldn't give credit unless the cable tv was out for 24hrs. & seriously, it could be out for 23 & 1/2 hrs. & still they wouldn't give credit for the outage. :-p

due to come on the 6th to run new wire never showed My eldest called his boss ( contractor for teh cable co work order says it was done by 9am lol I call the cable co and told them what I knew waited on line while she checked couldn't find the guy that did it so they told his super and they would call me The super showed up an hr later looked it all over said yup no new wire welll duh lol found out the crew went to a house on maple dr in the next town over I live on maple leaf dr lol well th eother house got new wire lol I had to wait two more hrs before they got there lol 5|1|we have to turn our box off and on every day to reset it|glennie58|glenn_scott@alumni.ksg.harvard.edu|11:58:00|10/13/2009|

I was having withdrawls from no TV. LOL! My morning without GMA was terrible...I live to watch that in the AM with my coffee and breakfast. : )

They admitted fully that they disconnected the wrong cable and even left me a "sorry" note on my door as well as on my answering machine at home. That was a total shock to come home to that.
