Can someone tell me how to get to MyComputer? I want to move some files by drag and drop rather than opening and save as, but I've got no MyComputer icon on my desktop. Not sure if my husband deleted the icon or if there never was one there and you have to access MyComputer some other way.

Lauren 1|1|Lauren, click on the start button (the Windows symbol in the bottom toolbar)....over to the right, you'll see Computer (that is essentially the same as My Computer in the XP version)....click on that and you will see your drives/files/documents, etc....if you want that icon on your desktop, just click on Computer and drag and drop it to the desktop.....hth! :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|12:46:32|10/10/2009|

Vista is so annoying. I am pretty familiar with computers from a lot of work experience, but Vista just was too radical of a change to easily get the hang of.
And I checked my quick launch and I don't see it there either.

You should have a bottom tool bar with that Windows symbol (in a blue circle) as the Start button to call up your program menus....like Control Panel, Computer, Help, etc....how do you get to any of those things if you dont have that Start button?? You need to go to Taskbar and Start Menu properties
Click on the Taskbar tab
There is an option to lock the taskbar....make sure you check that
There is an option to hide the taskbar....make sure you UNCHECK that.
There is also an option to show Quick Launch....make sure you check that.
That should take care of it for you

I have the start button that when clicked on leads you to programs, control panel, etc., but it just doesn't have the option of "Computer" or "MyComputer".

Apparently the computer was set up in "classic" mode, so it wasn't giving me that column that you guys had.
