A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

I got a little weird feeling with this with God's gender. It just felt odd. So I put it away and have not finished it but plan to soon. 4|2|I'm reading it now but don't like it so far......|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|11:18:48|10/10/2009|

I feel the same way. I am about half way through (at the shack "meeting" the three persons of God and am really not "getting it" :(

I'm really trying to stay with it cause the reviews on the book were totally positive.

But, seriously, up until what I've read so far, I have not enjoyed it at all :(

At the hospital we are reading it and after the group gets finsished we are going to have a group discussion about the book to hear everyones opinion on it. I think it is going to be very interestering. One of the things I got out of the book is not to judge anyone for any reason and also sometimes kids have more faith in things than adults. The little girl knew something bad was going to happen to her but she prayed that her parents would be ok after it was over. Ask yourself how many of us would have that kind of faith and pray for someone else when things are going wrong or if you know that someting bad was going to happen to you what would you do? I can honestly say I don't think I would be worried about anyone else but me. Trying to get there in my faith but have not yet. Asking for strengh everyday along with faith. Just wanted to know everyones opinion. 7|2|Loved It|mcrane|mkcmad@yahoo.com|15:18:20|10/10/2009|

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. Very sad and had to ask myself if I could forgive if the same thing happened to me? 8|1|It's one of the best books I've read in a long time.|sytipton|sytipton@suddenlink.net|15:54:16|10/10/2009|

It kept my attention the entire time. I didn't want to put the book down. It really makes you stop and think about things. 9|2|Really?|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|16:34:32|10/10/2009|

Did you find it compelling right from the beginning? As I said, I found the first half of the book really hard to stay interested in. I only read a few pages at a time so I obviously had no problem "putting the book down".

I am going to force myself to finish it.

Once you get past the description of everyone it is a very good book to me. Goes to show how everyone is not the way that you think they should be or look. That's my opinion and my opinion only. Don't mean to offend anyone if I did. Wanted to know if there was anyone else out there that felt the same way or similar to the way I did by reading the book. Am going to reread to see if I missed anything I'm sure I did. Somethings in it I did not understand. But still a very good book even with the tears. 12|5|Wow I havent read it either but I want to know|melpaul|Melpaul199@aol.com|21:21:01|10/10/2009|
