Ok my daughter has this strange rash or something im going to explain it to you and see if you can help me with it. First let me tell you i have already taken her to the doctor and they did a culture on it and they were not even real sure what it was, lol.

Any way back to the rash its about a 4x4 section and red and kind of blistery but not really and its oozing really really really bad. I mean really bad. it soaks a gauze pad in no time. she says it hurts really bad and is all red doesnt seem to be spreading doesnt itch doesnt burn. I really have no clue what the heck this is. Its like tiny blisters i think that are oozing clear stuff i know sounds nasty. They wont let her go back to school until it stops. Doc put her on antibiotics and steroids. Thinking either staff infection or poision ivy or oak but i really dont think that it is any of those things. First she has had staff infection before and it does not look anything like what she has had before. And it looks nothing like poison ivy or oak. I mean she did go deer hunting over the weeekend but i dont know how she would have gotten it where its at and in only that one spot. To me it kind of looks like what started on my face when i had shingles. Doctor says to keep it covered but i think it needs to dry up only i have no clue what to put on it to get it to dry up. Any suggestions for me

1|1|Jen, it could be several things by your description, which I'm sure the doc already considered (I was thinking impetigo, but that spreads....cellulitis is a general term for infection of the dermis but can be caused by any number of things...staph is the type of infectious bacteria that would be present if is a staph infection and since they cultured for that they would know) But when you mentioned shingles, that is a possibility....I've not heard of it in kids, but I imagine it's possible....did the doc question if it was shingles? If it is, then the antibiotic won't work on it, that would require an antiviral/antiherpetic med....if it doesnt show signs of improvement over the weekend, definitely call the doctor again Monday morning.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:10:46|10/09/2009|

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
