Has anyone made these light glass blocks. How do you do it and how did you decorate yours? I have seen some at local craft shows and look interesting! thanks! 1|1|I have made these before:|aloha2u|alohamillion@yahoo.com|16:10:57|10/04/2009|

The trick was getting the hole drilled in the glass. But I understand you can buy them with the hole already in them now.

I used regular paper but you can use that vellum I think they call it too. I printed a pic off of the internet and let the ink dry really well. Cut to size. I sprayed some clear vanish onto the glass block and then put the picture into it. Let dry. Use VERY LIGHT coats and let dry thoroughly between coats. You will have to practice a few times on this. Problems that arise are bubbles in your paper and the ink running from the varnish spray. Put Christmas lights inside and a ribbon on the outside and you are done.

I did some Thomas Kinkade ones of these and they were very nice. I also did a NAVY design for a retired Sailor I know and that worked well. I found that contrasting colored pictures worked well.
