he is back in school for the moment and we are still agitating to get him out after going around and around with the non-public school board I finally got to the right person on the school board who sent the methodology for getting your kid out of public school when he or she has an IEP in Wake County
another big duh lol
and here is another reason we think this is a good idea
he sits at a table ALONE to do his reading because he is the only kid in his class getting a '2' out of '6' in reading OMG
no aide, no help, nothing, even though reading is something autistic kids struggle with and writing and expressing ideas and comprehension and working alone without prompts too, and WAKE COUNTY has a reputation for being a good school district, uh?
and they said he can't get any academic help due to his unexcused absences (sent in a written not and a doctor's not for the last six days out but I guess I should have sent him in contagious ROFL
NObody addressed the fact that it is about his autism they are all acting like it doesn't exist and they can hang his 'failure' on absences

by law.....he is entitled to the help he needs ............ive went thru the same things with my son jeremy (who is autistic) and believe me...when i hit the door at the school
board of education........they are wanting to know whats wrong.........they dont want you to make their school system look like they are a failure......and if u shout loud enough.....
to the right people...they are more than willing to get whatever he needs...
