Last night on the news they interviewed some guy who said it was just a small indiscretion.. What the crap.. raping a 13yr old isn't some minor indiscretion. Sorry or not throw his tush in jail. If we let him get away with it what does it say to the rest of the pedophiles out there.

And think it's odd the girl's mother was aware of what was going on. The Era of free love and all. The culture was so different at that time. The girl, now in her 40's?, got a settlement and she is saying to let the whole thing go.
This whole thing has been going on soooo long. I knew it was some day going to end but I'm still not sure which side of the line to stand on.

is the the heart of the issue. There are/were many under-aged males and females having consensual sex. The thought of the Mother knowing about it makes it a consensual crime to me. I would think both Polanski and the Mother should have been charged.I can remember reading what trial transcripts were released. At the time I thought they were all a bunch of nuts.

Even if she consented, or her mother knew....the mother nor the girl are the ones who pressed charges then, I gather, if they got a settlement.....but that is a civil issue, now comes the criminal aspect of his actions. I always thought Roman & Woody were a bit on the odd side & then they proved it by messing w/such young girls. :( And I'm sorry but they're both just plain gross! Sure, maybe Roman regrets it now & maybe the girl & her mother didn't want to pursue charges, but the bottom line is a crime was committed & he needs to be held accountable for that. If the mother knew & did nothing, I think she should've also been held accountable in some way. Parents can't just go around "pimping" out their young, minor daughters to celebrities or turning a blind eye to it cuz there's $$$$ involved. :(
