My son is working til 11 tonight & I have to pick him up. Since I'm usually in bed reading no later than 9, we're both a little worried about me staying awake that late. LOL

And not keeping w/my normal bedtime is something I'd prefer not to do. I'm hoping my son can get his drivers license w/in the next couple of wks. cuz I know I won't be able to do this for any length of time. I need routine when it comes to bedtime/waking up & meals. If I deviate from that too much or for too long, previous experience has taught me it'll bite me in the butt. ;) My son is also used to a routine when it comes to bedtime & meals, especially w/all the yrs. he was in school. I really miss that cuz it also gave us both security in the sense that we knew what to expect & when. Plus, I KNEW he was safe in the school building w/a structured environment for those 8 hrs. every day, & it also helped me keep track of what day it was. LOL And of course, he misses seeing his friends every day. He's a little scared & nervous to now be out in the adult working world but I'm excited for him to be going in that new direction, gaining new experiences & new friends.
Fortunately for both of us, there aren't too many of these later work-nights on his schedule for the next 2 wks. so we can hopefully swing it w/out too much ado. And fortunately too, he has off tomorrow altho the rest of the week is filled.

I wish I could keep him safely in my pocket til he's 35 or something cuz along w/him getting this job, meeting new people & getting his drivers license comes new worries about him being out in the real world & on the road by himself, particularly at night & w/winter around the corner, on snowy roads. :( I'm excited for him yet I'm also terrified. LOL I just try to focus more on the positive things & not dwell on the scary stuff too much cuz it'll drive me crazy. LOL What's that saying, "Prepare for the worst but hope for the best"?
