on certain items. if i know i can get it elsewhere for less i absolutely refuse to give walmart my extra money. i'd rather use my time going somewhere lese to get it.
for instance ... a couple of weeks ago Gladiator was finally released on Blu-Ray and I had put $50 into our savings specifically for this movie over a year ago so when the release date was announced i moved the $ into our checking account and went that Tuesday to get the movie. Target and Best Buy had it advertised for $22.99 and i figured walmart would have it for less (because they normally do have lower prices the 1st week a movie is released) so i didn't bring either ad with me. We got there and the movie was $24.99! I was like NOPE, not paying it! I told my husband i refused to just "give" them $2 simply because i was there, i'd prefer to drive 4 miles to target or 3 miles to best buy and get it and we did.
for YEARS walmart has gouged prices on some items while rolling back others. sure............ the roll back items usually are the lowest in town BUT at what expense? do they realy think we don't SEE them lowering the price of charmin toilet paper and then RAISING the price of a package of socks by WAY more than what they lowered the tp for?
i keep track of what the items i buy all the time go for at each store i shop at and look for sales on those items............ walmart is not the only place to shop and i refuse to give them more money for certain items just because i happen to be there. kwim?

I do better at the regular grocery store with double coupons on most items. Aldi milk, cheeses and cottage cheese is still cheaper.

regular price after labor day. People buy different stuff or less of certain items so pack allowances to retailers decrease or large shipment deals end. For Beer companies price increases are always in January and the end of June after the holidays and before the summer season. There are occasional odd other times driven by production or commodity cost increases. 14 years in the grocery industry taught me this much.
