I live in a rural town, population of 650 and no local police. I called city this a.m. because the neighbor has a semi truck parked in front of the fire hydrant that is located on the property line/right of way and it has been parked there all night. This happens quite often by the neighbors with vehicles but not the semi. The city tells me to call the county sheriffs non emergency #. Oh please.....this is a city fire hydrant AND the city worker in a city work truck drives by every morning around 7:30 a.m. WHY I have no idea, I always thought it was to check things out! Now why would they not stop and give a warning to the person OR call a tow truck. In a big city I believe you would be towed. Right?

this is illegal and here is some advice
call the Township back, get the name of the person who you are talking to and then kindly explain that if something happens because fireman cannot get to the hydrant you will let them know you talked to the township several times and give them that person's name..They can be held responsible since they were Notified (several times0 and choosse to do nothing about it.

3|2|One of my friends (firefighter) smashed through a vehicle 'Backdraft' style when there was a fire and the hydrant was the closest one to use. Can you call the cops and have them come, in uniform, and give him a stern "don't do it again" warning. Otherwise, there's generally ordinances that state how far away you must park.
