my daughter lives in a trailor court....and of course.....people move in and out constantly........
but.......this one lady and man moved in a month ago.....they are around 49-52......they had a baby with them....around 2 yrs old......she claims is her grandchild
they dont have a car..ect..yesterday.....supposedly the mom came and got the baby....(a baby that she has never kept since birth)
last nite.....the lady..knocks on my daughters door.......with a large bag of clothing that belong to the child........told my daughter....keep what you can use.....trash the rest.......in with the clothing is a brand new pair of niki shoes....to fit a 4yr old..clothing for a child around 4 ect....but they dont have a child that size......
tells my daughter ...we are moving and plan to be out tomorrow afternoon(which would have been today) my daughter says.....she seems nervous......and seems to be on drugs or something......says her
mouth..had sores around it.....looked as if she had been chewing her lips..........
tonight she knocks on the the door......and sits a brand new high chair on the porch...tells my daughter....u can have this if u can use it...........says...i also have a nearly new crib....toys......and any furniture...over there that anyone can use.........they can have it...........
now is it just me.....or does it seem strange...that this person is giving away all the kids stuff.........??? if his mother took him........she would have needed clothing...ect...????
my daughter called a bit ago......says i have the strangest feeling about these people.......i told her to call the cops.....tell them...she is concerned about the child......and they would have to come out and check..............
forgot this......she says......they say their name is one thing....but if u call them by the name...(cant remember the name she said)....they act as if it takes a min for them to realize u are taking to them.........she thinks ..they arent who they say they are........
1|1|I think it all seems suspicious and scary...my first thought would be of the child....I mean who's child was that really?? And why move out a month after they moved and GIVE their stuff away? hi all, i trade on rs periodically and read this post ... i work in law enforcement (around the kansas city area). the posts i've read on here that say, "call the police" are right on! if you ever have a feeling something isn't quite right ... it usually isn't. i wrote the lady who originally posted a (probably too long) email and said "yea for your daughter" for getting involved. so many people stand back and "don't want to get involved". PLEASE get involved. it's easy to contact the local law authorities and it's easy for them to follow-up on it. it may be nothing but just in case ... always report. one more thing, there's a book that i think all women should read (probably a lot of men too) by gavin debecker called "the gift of fear". it's a little boring in places but read the whole book - it's awesome. in one of the early chapters a woman is struggling to get her groceries home when someone who makes her feel uncomfortable offers to help. she politely refuses and he acts "hurt" so she gives in. he helps her to her apartment and then rapes her. always act on that little voice! okay, i don't mean for this to be too heavy and i certainly don't want everyone to walk around feeling suspicious of everyone and everything ... just be aware. stay safe. sandy 17|3|DeBecker has another book - Protecting the Gift (m)|rumrunnergirl|rumrunnergirl@hotmail.com|22:48:43|09/16/2009|
Check your local library. He says to trust your instincts, they are there for a reason but we humans tend to rationalize things away that are too painful to confront. He says "the rabbit doesn't go to the stream for a drink and sees a fox and thinks 'how cute and furry that fox is' - the rabbit's instincts scream DANGER!!! and the rabbit takes off. But, as humans, we will say "oh, Uncle Ben likes little Rosie to sit on his lap because he's lonely" even when little Rosie is clearly uncomfortable with it all - and we just don't want to think about what could actually be Uncle Ben's true intentions because they're not nice. And most children are harmed by family members - not strangers. (true for adults also). "Stranger danger" pales in comparison to what your own family members will do to you.
Be aware and stay safe, and teach your kids the same.

Hopefully that baby wasn't stolen, but having the cops check them out might be a good idea, just in case. You just never know nowadays as we're hearing so much about kids being stolen, missing, snatched off their bikes, from stores, on their way to/from school, even right out of their own beds. :(

I'd rather call the police, have them investigate and find nothing than find out later that a child was, in fact, in trouble and I didn't help :(
