My kids have always been treated out by their friend's parents and I really wanted to do something too. They are all older teenagers and young adults so I knew it be expensive. Been saving for a while for my son's 20th birthday and we did a Benihana's dinner with 7 people. He got the free dinner for his birthday, my youngest son and I got a coupon from chef's table that I used plus I cashed in some of my credit card points to get a gift card. We went all out with drinks and desert and with all my savings it turned out to be a very reasonable and affordable! They take a group picture and give it to you for free give plus download it for copies. Everyone had an awesome time !

Just have to plan stuff way in advance to make sure there is time to save. I found keeping a jar for change and just throwing a few cents in here and there adds up.
