I am starting to drive school bus on Tuesday. My kids are 4 year old kindergarten three times a day. I want to give them things (ocassionally) for being good on the bus and for holidays. I would like to avoid candy and food if possible because you do not know who is allergic to what. As a parent, what would you prefer bus drivers handed out to kids?

Thanks for your suggestions!

As a parent I am not terribly fond of playdough (kids get it on rare occasions supervised), balloons (they LOVE balloons but they tend to cause conflicts unless every kid has one), and that is all that I can think of on my "no thanks" list. Maybe avoid the dollar store type toys. Think small and useful/fun? HTH. Vanessa 4|1|I would go the sticker route|ncbrunet|ncbrunet@aol.com|13:31:13|09/04/2009|

They are fairly cheap to buy on a large roll. You could have transformers, cars, spongebob type for boys and little pony, dolls, etc for the girls.

Our school, the kids are not allowed to use the "cute" pencils at school. Only the regular yellow ones are allowed so none would be ale to use the fun ones if you gave them out. I don't know about your schools, you may want to check on it.

as a parent,,,I would be furious if someone gave my preschooler a balloon....you know how small children are...they will want to blow it up and if they make a mistake and inhale the balloon as they are trying to blow it up they could inhale it and choke on it....

I would stay away from anything they could potentially put in their mouth and choke on, elastics, small balls, balloons, small candy, etc.

I would definately do the rolls of stickers....they are inexpensive and you can have a variety for both girls and boys and they will love it just the same and the probability they will choke on one is pretty low.
