But I really do like Dawn too. I just use a squirt when I am starting to fill the sink with hot water and it really stretches. The other brands do not seem to bubble up the way I like them too. To stretch it I also add water to the last little bit of the bottle and get a few more uses that way.

With laundry soap I am very lucky in that I found super cheap sales about 2 years ago. Bought ALL for about 50 cents a bottle and I have not run out yet. I think I have about 8 bottles left. Since it is liquid soap I am careful to use a small amount (it is also concentrated) and I always use the same cup. I do not let anyone else in the house add the soap because none of them are as careful.
Wish I could help with your specific question, but maybe a tiny bit of that might help you anyway.
Vanessa 3|1|Gwen check the frugal living board, I am pretty sure there was a post about that recipe and some results/opinions :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|20:29:13|09/02/2009|

I use powder laundry detergent because for me it seems to last alot longer. Instead of using a full cup like it says to I only use a half of a cup and my clothes come out just as clean. I use Purex Powder it cost me $3 and something a box and with me and 3 kids at home one box will last me a month. And when i say i use a half a cup per load i mean i use a half a cup i actually have a measuring cup in my box..lol but really my clothes do come out just as clean and smelling just as good as when i was using the full cup. As far as the dish soap i use dawn too.

it is very low sudsing........it inital cost me about $10 to get the stuff to make a 5 gal bucket of laundry detergent......but of course....the borax, and such......u will have enough to make several 5 gals......

fels bar...is also a great stain remover......just wet the bar.....rub the stain......and it comes out...

i have added a bottle of dawn to the 5 gal bucket and stirred well..........so it will make more suds
