My 8yr old stuck something in his ear. THen tried to get it out himself and only when he lodged it beyond the point we couldn't get it. We tried using my friend's suction machine before heading off to the ER but he wouldn't hold still. Anywho we went to the Er where the nurse was very firm with him and Matt, a nurse, myself held him down while another nurse got it out! He's on ear drops now as he scratched up his ear canal and it bled a little. It did NOT touch his ear drum thank God! I also made the doctor tell Greg what he was allowed to put in his ears.. > NOTHING! She read him the riot act which is exactly what I wanted. She was very firm with him!!
I told Matt if we only have one trip to the ER every 13 and a half years I can do this!!!

Well, it didn't hurt too bad. (((shaking my head))) I had to put my traction unit away. You fill the bag w/water and it pulls under your chin to lift your head up.. These boys were using it as an obstecle course. It has to hang over the door. AND I told them along w/my husband not to even go near it.. Yeah HELLO!! Jesse was in the thing all twisted up and there goes my therapy...... My doctor asked how's it going. I said it's in my attic collecting dust because it's either I pee or one of my sons hang from it..... Ugh!! And it doesn't get easier when they're older either. We just need to keep them alive until they get married..... Then their wives can deal w/them.....

My 1st DD stuck a popcorn kernel way way up there. We were living in the middle of nowhere at the time, so we used a straw (and my husbands strong stomach) to get that one free.
Youngest decided that tic tac candies were not to be eaten, but they are FUN to stick up her nose. She did that once and we went through all sorts of trouble getting it out. She got the 3rd degree. A couple months later she did it AGAIN and learned that mint tic tacs kind of hurt! but the price is right I looked around the house got a friend who will get me inside later today. I had to drive up and down 4 times before I figured out you can't see the house from the street it is tucked in behind two houses in a very good neighborhood. Think I will finance it for my daughter so she gets the tax credit and she could flip or rent it out in a couple years and have some cash of her own.
