Ok Nick was out of school the week before last on thurs and fri and Monday and tues of this past week no direct diagnoisis put him on antibioyics he has one left to take this am he woke up with a sore throat and a fever How common is it to be on meds and still get a sore throat? 1|1|T, there are two possibilities here.....one is that the infection he has is viral, not bacterial, and antibiotics only work on bacterial infections. The other is that while ill with one infection, he was exposed to a second that his immune system couldnt fight off (it was already fighting off one) and one or both of those may be viral in which case the antibiotics wont work.....did he get tested for mono or strep last week?|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|07:40:19|08/31/2009|
