my daughter couldnt keep this a secreat any longer most of you know my husband(not legal married but have lived to gether for 20 years)we have been struggling since dec 2008 i have taken on extra daycare kids durning the day work nights and weekends at disney store selling on ebay ect,my daughter needs major dental work insurance will not cover $1000 the ned $300 up frount ,we have been living paycheck to paycheck we have very little savings well any way she claims that he told her that he won calif lottery $150,000.00 abd he should be getting his payment any day what should i do ???this really bothers me ,hes alwasy been a cheep.shold i stay low i just want to explode right in his face,the wired thing is for a broke man to have a comany come give estimite on kitchen remodle is strange to me they will be comming today at $12:30 and im making suire that im not gonna b home i want no part of it.i have checked lottery records and home comeup with two possible dates of winnings which would be june 9th winnings which according to the lady i talked to on the phone from the lottery 800 number it takes 90 days for a payout.so this could be true i know i can count on some good avice here what shall i do thansk teri 1|1|If your marriage is solid, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt for a bit longer....maybe he wants to surprise you with this. I agree that you could base your reaction on past experience with money/spending. It is hard to say, too, because we don't know if your husband is just planning this as a surprise. Or maybe he wanted to wait til the check arrives, to be sure it is "real" because he might be still in shock?

NOW... How do you know that the kitchen people are coming today? You obviously need a new kitchen and if he is making plans then there must be money coming in from somewhere. If he told you kitchen people were coming today, did you ASK where the money would be coming from??
SECOND...I think you said that he's been asking about Christmas...there was mention of three days at Disney. Again that is not something anybody is going to do if there if as little money in your house as you say. Did you ask him how you all would be paying for this??
SO...I would suggest that you sit back and wait and see how it plays out. If you found a plane ticket to South American then you would have something to be concerned about....but apparently, he is willing to spend it on the family...so this may be a great thing that has happened to you. I certainly hope so.

It sounds as though you believe him over your daughter..and from personal experience I can tell you that you won't go wrong believing a child. Even if they are lying, God knows it. You said that she "claims" this to be true but seem more willing to accept what he says, dangerous situation to be in. Don't make your child hate you and don't provoke them to anger, for any reason. Its a dreadful day when your child won't trust you because you have shown her that you think she is lying. Always believe the child and let the adults fend for themselves, every time. I would bet my last dollar that your children are very much negatively affected by the fact that their parents are not married (like their friends' parents).
I really don't care if people want to live together for years without getting married IF they do not have children.
But I don't understand how a couple aren't committed enough to each other to get married, but they are committed enough to bring children into the world? :(
I think having children is a much bigger commitment than getting married since you can simply divorce your spouse and get out but your children are forever.
