my cat jr had to be put down he was 18 years old and we had him since my daughter was 7 or 8 and shes 25 now. he was diabetic and his sugar dropped to 10 last night and we had a hard time bringing it up we took him to a emergency vet and they gave him ivs. they said he was dehydrated and his iron was real low and his red blood count was messed up. they wanted to keep him for a few days but we didnt have the money. we took him to our regular vet this morning and made the choice to let him go. he was not his self and could not go pee. and his pancreas was huge. he was suffering and it was his time. my daughter is hysterical and all i do is cry. i wonder if he hates me for making the choice to let him go. 1|1|Oh, I'm so sorry for you & your family. :( |maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|10:12:06|08/26/2009|
I hope I never have to make such a decision but I don't think your cat would be angry at you for selflessly letting him go, to be free of the pain & suffering he was going thru. As much as it hurts us, it shows you loved him enough to let him go. ;)

No he won't hate you as he is so much better off & not hurting anymore. Our poor baby suffered so much & the vet couldn't find the problem, I spent $500 & he still died. If I'd known that what he had was not to be helped ,I'd made the choice to let him go rather than see him so sad & sick. I felt so guilty that I let him go not knowing what was the problem. I've cried so much that my eyes were swollen shut. You made the right decision.

everyone my daughter is already thinking she made the wrong decision but i told her that we made the right one even if it hurts. they thought he had cancer in his pancreas or some other disease. he would hardly eat and he either couldnt or wouldnt pee. they said that something else was going on besides him being diabetic.like i told her its not fair to make him suffer just because we didnt want to let him go. 5|3|So sorry to hear this & will keep you'all in my prayers!!!!!|cashcoll|cashcoll@yahoo.com|17:53:54|08/26/2009|

I lost my beautiful abyssinian girl 2 years ago from complications with diabetes and heart disease..I never thought I would get over it..She was 13 and a pure bred, a champion at the cat shows and what else? Oh my heart goes out to you..the pain was immense. It took me almost 2 years to get another and now I am a happy camper but I did mourn her loss..I'm so sorry.
