Me and my friend Tina started working on it about about 1 or so and we finished up at about 4:30. Her hubby had to help us few times because we couldnt get a few bolts lose no matter what we tried or we couldnt get the impact wrench into places. But all in all we managed to do it ourselves. I had grease and antifreeze and you name it in places today that i didnt even know existed..LOL Oh yeah and you should have seen me..Im under the car taking the exhaust lose and im laying on one of those little things that you roll around on i dont know what they are called and what do i do roll right over my hair LOL so my hair gets tangled up in the wheel gets power steering fluid all in it...What a mess..LOL But hey we got the job done.... Was not looking pretty when it was over with but got it done.

So tomorow we start taking items off this motor and putting them on the other motor that is going back in the car. Would be nice if we could it put back in tomorow too but that will definately happen by wednesday.

today was spent taking parts off one motor and putting them on the other motor to get it ready to go back in the car. The motor that i bought was older than the one that i had but had less miles on it so alot of stuff had to be switched over. So we spent pretty much all day doing that heck we started at 9am and quit and 5:30. I believe the only thing we have left to put on is the intake and then we are ready to put it back in the car and start getting every thing hooked up inside so hopefully by tommorow evening i can come on here and report that i got my car running.

and i thought i was just going to be pulling the motor and thats it...Ha ha ha..Nope but hey im learning alot of stuff in the process

7|1|Todays update...Not a good one :(|rainj|jmrains@centurytel.net|21:16:08|08/26/2009|

Well it started out very good we got the motor put in no problem got it all put back together no problem. Went to start it up started up no problem...This is where the probelm starts. The thing makes more noise than the first one did!!!! It actually has two rods knocking as my original one only had one rod knocking!!! Im so frustrated right now. Three days of hard and i mean hard work for nothing. So we are back to square one. So tomorow we pull this one back out take it back apart. This is what we have decided to do. Instead of trying to buy another used motor and taking a chance of this happening again we are just going to rebuild the lower end of my original motor which is the crank because that is all that is bad on mine. So we pull the motor that is in my car take all the parts off of it that go back on my motor buy the crank kit rebuild the crank and blah blah blah...LOL.

Good news is the guy did end up giving me back my money for the motor that i bought. The reason we went with a used motor the first time around was because it was cheaper. And well im on a limited income but i dont really have a choice i have to have a car so im just going to do it and do it right. Helps that me and my friend are doing most of the labor. Still the parts are killing me. Just to think of all that oil and antifreeze that went into that motor today that is going to be wasted....:(
