he has been trained with the #1 issue for some time now but he won't poop in a pot
tells u he will come tell u when he has to go but then does not
we have been giving him time outs to set in corner and they get longer but don't seem to even phase him
and once he goes in his pants he cames and says i'm sorry because he wants them changed right away
they were camping with us last nite today the little guy got up early i never heard him and when i could find him in bed with his sisters he was under the table had his dirty diaper off and a mess on the carpet big time and he was coved from time to bottom needless to say gma was not a happy camper
we are at wits end with this kid and thing is he is so smart so what's with this anyway!!!!!

For my three year old, I got a little basket and put it on the dresser with five or six small toys in it (Hot Wheels, little bracelets, stickers, dollar store toys, etc) and each time she put her poo in the potty, she was able to pick just one thing out of the basket. I was really surprised how fast it worked...in under two weeks, we didn't have one single incident of her going in her Pull-up. And, then I got rid of the toy basket once she was using the pot so often that she was grossed out by the idea of putting it in her pants. So what does upset him? Or what does he find as a reward... with my middle son it was a simple matter of being lazy. It was too much to have to stop playing and go so he'd go in his diaper... I tried everything from rewarding to punishing. I finally found a punishment he hated and once I did it ONCE that was it he went in the potty ever after. I think some times in those moments of desperation when you are willing to try anything you find what works. Sounds like your grandson knows what he's doing and just doesn't care. So either find a reward that is so appleaing for him he's willing to do anything to get it or find the punishment that is so great he is willing to do anything to NOT get it again
