Thursday night about 10 p.m. she complained of a headache & went to bed, about 3:00 a.m. she awoke throwing up since then she has been flat on her back, sleeping pretty much of the time, she has a horrible sinus problem too and high fever but I am without a thermometer to see how high it is. All I have on hand is chewable Jr. Motrin & she hates that & gags on it so have been giving her baths to deal with fever. She is drinking about 16 to 20 oz of water a day & going pee & poop, she has also eaten little bits here & there. She hasn't thrown up since the 3 a.m. on Friday. Don't know if I should take her in today or tomorrow, am sure they will just tell me to keep up what I am doing, hmmmmm.

I swear my 9 yr old had something similar that started the Thursday before, she had headache, dizziness, arm & leg aching, fever & threw up once & slept constantly but she was better by that Sunday.

Some friends of ours daughter (teenager) had it last month and they waited before taking her in. Once they did take her to pedi, he sent her straight to emergency room. Once there, she fainted and they took her in. The Docs tested her and started her on tamiflu (I believe) and she did respond within about 4 days. The test does take a while for the results but they started her on the treatment anyway and later the results turned up positive.

Scary stuff....Yeah, I'd take your little one in asap.

My thoughts were I didn't want to expose any new or small babies at the docs office if he had it...and most flus are just a waiting game anyway. If your child is staying hydrated (peeing)...I would treat with comfort measures at home....but that is me.|Barb09|Barb0969@AOL.com|08:39:30|08/11/2009|

it basically says to treat at home UNLESS skin is turning grayish/green, lips are purplish/blue, they are not drinking, etc..... It also says need to keep out of public if has a fever, until the fever is gone your are still contagious.

My sister said her neighbors friends son had what seemed to be a cold and then he started complaining of very sore legs so he was taken to doctor and was tested for H1N1 and low & behold he had it, she said the doctors want people tested just so they can track it. Also the Tampaflu stuff is only given within so many hours of having flu virus. I remember taking my oldest son (when he was younger) to the doctor after having the flu for about 3 days and they swabbed his nose & did test & came back to say he was out of the hour range for the Tamaflu to be affective.

My question is once you get it are you able to get it again?

Also my daughter did have a good evening last night after a dose of IBprofun (spelling?), she ate supper, took a stroll outside for about 1/2 hour and slept pretty good and this morning she was up and sitting at table with us & played games on the computer but is not resting again and I am trying to get her to take her IBprofun but that is a chore. It also appears that her nasal problem may be drying up. Hoping she's on the mend.

my kids, then if you catch it early they put them on tamiflu, and it works great. I also have kids with asthma, so you don't mess around or they wind up on a ton of other meds.

Hope she feels better real quick.
