1|1|Here's one for a fresh salsa (nothing is cooked, just mixed up and eaten...you can refrigerate the leftovers for several days)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:31:35|08/03/2009|<center><font size="1" color="#ff0000">Last edited on Aug-03-09 at 04:32 PM (Eastern) by 98.213.175.237</font></center><p>Posted on Aug-03-09 at 04:31 PM (Eastern) by 98.213.175.237<P>I didnt know if you were looking for a canning recipe or not, but thought you might like this fresh one :)<BR> Fresh Salsa<BR>1 cup chopped seeded plum tomato or chopped seeded roma tomato (about 4) <BR>1/2 cup chopped onion (I have used scallions instead too...very good)<BR>2 cloves garlic, minced fine<BR>2 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves <BR>1/4 teaspoon cumin powder <BR>1 tablespoon lime juice <BR>1 tablespoon grated lime rind--optional <BR>1 teaspoon olive oil <BR>salt and pepper to taste<BR>1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely minced (wear rubber gloves when handling)-you can use less if you dont want it too hot.<P>Mix all the above in a bowl...you can serve immediately or let it set for a bit (like maybe an hour or two).<BR>Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.  <P>Joy :)<P>A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.<BR>--Thomas Jefferson--<P>A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.<BR>--Thomas Jefferson--

We LOVE IT!  I seen Fareway in Charles City had Mrs. Wages prepackaged mixes in their clearance cart.  Give a call and see if they have any salsa in there.  I think they were priced at 99c.  <P>Also, did my pphf get to the school RAOK person?
