HB 1388 PASSED--Just got this in email.

Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE U. S. needs to know....

Something happened... H.R. 1388 was passed yesterday, behind our
backs. You may want to read about it.. It wasn' t mentioned on the
news... just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN
screen.

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA . This is the news that didn't ' t make the headlines...

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza .

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands
of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States ,
was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on
February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order
provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to
individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the
Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let ' s review....itemized list of some of Barack Obama ' s most recent
actions since his inauguration:

His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud
Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization
was with Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just
here within the U. S. , but within the world, using U. S. tax payer
funds.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees
halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole
and the "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian
refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the
blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Doubtful? To verify this for yourself:

When I click on each FR link, it has Commodities Futures Trading Commission....does that mean surveillance and enforcement of trade laws?

Refugee FAQs(I FOUND THIS ON A CUBAN REUGEE SIGHT BUT CHECKED WITH OTHER COUNTRYS AND THEY ARE THE SAME ONLY 90 DAY ASSISTANCE............

Q: What is a refugee?
Answer: A refugee is a person who is determined to be unable or unwilling to avail himself or herself of the protection of their country of origin because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

Q: What is the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program?
Answer: The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program allows refugees from all parts of the world who meet the criteria outlined in the annual Presidential Determination to be resettled in the United States. The program in Cuba is administered by the State Department Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM), in conjunction with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) of the Department of Homeland Security, the Office of Refugee Resettlement of the Department of Health and Human Services, and the International Organization for Migration.

Q: How do I claim refugee status with the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program?
Answer: To apply for refugee status with the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, a person must complete a Preliminary Questionnaire and deliver it to the Havana Refugee Office in person, via mail, or via fax. The written request can be placed in a drop-box located at the gate of the Refugee Office, located at Malecón and J, faxed to (537) 834-4515, or mailed to:

Sección de Intereses do los Estados Unidos
Oficina de Refugiados
Calzada e L y M
Vedado, Ciudad Habana

Q: As a refugee, will I be sent to the U.S?
Answer: If you are approved by the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, you will be resettled in the United States.

Q: If I am resettled in the U.S., for how long will I receive financial support? Will I be provided a house, car and job?
Answer: You will receive housing and other relocation assistance for up to 90 days after your arrival in the United States. Different states offer different benefits. You may be eligible for other refugee assistance programs also. You are expected to become a self-sufficient member of society as soon after your arrival as possible.

Q: When can I start to work in the United States?
Answer: You will be expected to find employment as soon after arrival as possible.

Q: Can I visit family members in Cuba while I am a refugee in the U.S.?
Answer: Once you obtain Permanent Legal Resident (approximately one year after arriving) status you may travel to Cuba, though subject to the same travel restrictions as other Cubans who wish to visit family in Cuba. You are strongly encouraged to ask for the assistance of an experienced immigration attorney or non-governmental organization if you decide to return to Cuba.

Q:What happens if I change my marital status or have a newborn child during the process?
Answer: You should contact the Refugee Office as soon as your marital status has changed or you have a newborn child. A change of marital status could affect your eligibility and the eligibility of dependent family members to participate in the program; a newborn child would normally be added as a member of your family and would not affect your eligibility.

Q: I am a sole surviving son and the sole source of support for my mother. Can she be included in my case?
Answer: Each case consists of an applicant and his or her dependent spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21. Both you and your mother should submit applications together.

Q: USCIS approved my case but I have not received my exit permit from the Cuban Immigration. What do I do?
Answer: Please inform the Refugee Unit and wait until you receive permission from Cuban Immigration to leave the country. The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program cannot assist you in obtaining an exit permit.

Q:Where will I live in the United States? Do I have a choice?
Answer: The Refugee Admissions Program attempts to place refugees in cities where family members already live. Also, refugees will be placed in cities where voluntary organizations have programs to assist newly arriving refugees.

Q: How long does it take to become a Legal Permanent Resident (“green card” holder) and U.S. citizen?
Answer: A refugee can apply for Legal Permanent Resident status one year after admission to the United States. After being a Legal Permanent Resident for five years, a refugee can apply to become a U.S. citizen.

Q: Can I travel to the United States before my approved spouse and/or children?
Answer: If the principal applicant of a case decides for any reason to travel before his or her approved family members, they must also travel to the United States within four months of his or her arrival. If they do not travel within four months of the principal applicant, they would have to be reconsidered.

I am a firm believer that if you work hard, you can make all of your dreams come true. However, it is getting increasingly more difficult to earn enough income to combat inflation, let alone make a positive economic investment (plus, the real estate market has made many people's primary investment an equity loss). This includes hard working families... not just people who bought an expensive home.

There are countries who do not allow foreign born individuals to make permanent residence ... because of limited resources, etc. My personal opinion: there would be nothing wrong with the refugees finding another country to help them for a few decades... at the rate we are going, we as Americans are ALL going to be living like Third World citizens before the next election. Wonder what country is going to open its doors to me and pay my way for 90 days?? 34|3|Shel when you find said country lmk.. I'll come with ya lol|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|17:10:17|07/31/2009|

In the last 2 days I have lost my Cousin & my Aunt. After posting on facebook I started getting e-mails from confused friends & I felt the need to explain the family history. Then I read this post. Again, I feel the "calling to vent".
Yes, I get angry when I hear about all the gov't food stamps, housing, medical, etc being given away. I cannot even get food stamps & medical & I am a fulltime student living on student loans that will probably take me the remainder of my working years to pay back. That is, if I can get a job when I graduate. AND my Grandfather came here from Italy with his little sister, across the ocean on a boat, with probably only $10.00 & a suitcase. After he got thru Ellis Island they stuck him on a bus & when he got off the bus in Jersey City, NJ he got robbed. NOBODY gave him food stamps, free housing, and there were no coupons printed in Italian. These IMMIGRANTS lived in neighborhoods with other immigrants of the same nationality & pooled all their resources together and worked as a group in search of a better life, the American Dream. Their children, my parents had it tough because they had to help their PARENTS TRANSLATE EVERYTHING. Our generation was only taught to speak english because that was what my Grandfather wanted, for us to be Americans. So, although I'd like to complain about immigrants, I have to remember my family were immigrants. I do however have a problem with illegal immigrants. I also have a problem with coupons printed in anything other than English, store doors printed with any language other than english & TAX dollars being spent on programs to teach children to speak english so they can attend school. As for the refugees, I think the U.S. has this policy because of the inhumane treatment that occurs to innocent people. The Holocaust & Hitler are a reminder of what happened for years while the U.S. sat back & did nothing. U.S. foreign policy has changed drastically since Vietnam as well. For years in Haiti & Cuba many people were killed because of political reasons which although barbaric to us, that is normal to foreign govt's. We absolutley need to have a refugee policy. Many of the problems in other countries are caused by OUR INTERFERENCE. Speaking of Afghanistan....did anyone see Charlie Wilson's War??? After WWII the Cold War began. It was the U.S. against the U.S.S.R. In 1979 the Soviet's raided Afghanistan & since the Soviet's were our enemies we armed the Afghan guerillas with the soldier-launched missles that defeated the Soviets & caused the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan. Who knew 20 years later these would be the missles that would take down all the U.S. helicopters in that region. When the U.S.S.R. broke up, we thought our troubles were over. Our current enemy, the Taliban, well we have ourselves to thank, we created them. My last beef is about the Patriot Act. I cannot believe the U.S. Gov't can monitor all our phone calls, e-mails, even beam via satellite into our kitchens & see what we are eating for dinner but cannot find OSAMA BIN LADEN OR the Taliban. Come on! Thanks for listening. 46|2|I agree with you, and I think they killed Osama bin Laden early on|glennie58|glenn_scott@alumni.ksg.harvard.edu|04:01:36|08/01/2009|

how many americans do you know thayt work these types of jobs???? 43|2|There are people on this board who work those jobs|couponshelmd|couponshel@comcast.net|20:50:42|07/31/2009|

Before you generalize, you might want to realize that there are people who post on this board and coupon/rebate/refund who work at the jobs you mention; where the wages are not enough to support a family. They are current U.S. citizens, to the best of my knowledge.

Feel free to post a website that says most minimum wage jobs are held by refugees and recent immigrants. I still won't believe that more refugees will help the current unemployment rate. I know too many people who have lost their jobs and are doing whatever work they can find to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. I am sure they are looking into whatever resources are available to them, but I am fairly sure they are not being offered the amount of support a refugee is being offered, according to your most recent link.

Thank you for letting me post on your thread, I can tell this topic has deeply affected you that you are researching the matter for all of us. 44|2|I believe if the illegals were sent back from where they came, and those jobs opened up... you'd see a LOT of Americans take them|whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|20:52:49|07/31/2009|

I know, it doesn't sound like it would happen, but this is like the chicken and egg theory. Are Americans NOT taking these jobs because the illegals are, or are the illegals taking them because the Americans don't want them? There are currently an estimated 700,000 unemployed Americans who have run out of unemployment benefits. I'm SURE they would take anything they could to get food in their homes or even a home. So keeping the illegals for these jobs doesn't cut it.

As for Jessica's comments -- this country is build on immigrants. My grandparents also came from Italy in the 20's and they worked hard and learned the language and while they started in immigrant neighborhoods, they Americanized themselves to move away and mix in. And they didn't get any handouts. None. Millions and millions of people came her and did that. My father and his siblings learned to speak Italian in the house and then had to learn English so they could go to school. The one thing you mentioned was that we spend tax money to teach these illegals English --- I don't think that's true. In my area of the world, we are spending tax money to teach the American children how to speak Spanish and Portuguese so that THEY can converse with the other children. Helloooooooo....

I believe that the American Dream is available to everyone. But you have to freaking EARN it.

I don't remember who made the reference to Hitler and the Holocaust, but I have many Jewish friends who lost relatives to this horror and they live with a "never forget" motto. We have a lot to learn from that. While most of us would admit that what Hitler did was awful and surely nothing like that could ever happen again, and that people aren't that trusting or gullible... look around you. Our protests have to expand beyond this column or we will all find outselves going for a ride. I don't know what that move is - I hope someone does. It's like I see it all happening in slow motion but I don't know how to stop it. 45|1|hers a website from lutheran family service with great facts|crazymomx2|crazymomx3girls@hotmail.com|00:49:06|08/01/2009|
