12 0|0|Opinion on "value" of a Hershey Park ticket please..|couponshelmd|couponshel@comcast.net|17:59:52|07/27/2009|

I could use an opinion please, about the value of a Hershey Park ticket. Tickets are currently selling for $51.95 at the park gates (per adult). I have two tickets/vouchers that I earned at Giant grocery store. No, I did not buy them, but I did have to buy a specific amount of groceries from a list.

My sister and I were going to take my kids + her kids; we decided that we are not going this summer, as we are going to Dutch Wonderland instead. She mentioned to my cousin that I will be selling the tickets. My cousin called me to ask to have them since she thinks I did not pay anything; I told her that I did spend extra money that week at the store to ensure that I would received the tickets.

Now we are at the point where I am trying to ask for money for the tickets; my sister said that 1/2 price would be fair, offering the pair of tickets for $50.00. My cousin said that since it does not include the parking pass, that she thinks $40.00 for the pair is more reasonable (since parking will be $10.00)... am I being unfair to think that is too little? I was hoping to make some money back to use towards the Dutch Wonderland tickets, which I did tell my cousin.

Thanks for an honest opinion!

you can easily trade for paypal on craigs list without any problem. the tickets still have full value so I think you are being fair. the other person could have done the same thing and got tickets themnselves.

p.s. when do they expire??? 2|2|Not until end of September|couponshelmd|couponshel@comcast.net|18:23:06|07/27/2009|

and my cousin told me that there are discount tickets where she works for $34.95... without a parking pass. I am not sure why she is taking $10.00 off the tickets when parking is not included in any of the deals ?

Thanks!!

PS, I am sure I could sell them on Craigslist, you are right.... that was the plan before my cousin asked for them and now I feel badly that I am asking "too much" in her opinion. I am at the point where I feel like telling her they are not for sale and wish my sister had not mentioned the tickets to her. 3|3|In My Opinion|Sockrgrl33|kbess@cox.net|18:44:45|07/27/2009|

Just my opinion but if it were a discrepancy over $10 price difference, if it were my family member I would just sell them for the $40. Only because it wouldn't be worth the drama it may cause for the extra $10. But they are your tickets so you have a right to sell them for whatever you choose. 4|1|Two tickets on ebay sell for $ 66-70 I'd ask for $60 minimum |Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|19:04:14|07/27/2009|

through Facebook. Basically she is saying she can only afford $40.00 for both because, get this, she is also going to Disney in Orlando at the end of August. She said the tickets there are "so expensive" that she needs my tickets cheap for Hershey. Also asked if she could have the tickets now and pay me at the end of August when she gets her birthday money... which is also when she is going to Florida so I am wondering if I would even see that money.

I wrote back and told her that I want the money for Dutch Wonderland tickets (which I told her earlier today also) and we want to go there fairly soon. Honestly, she asked for these tickets for free (when my sister said I was "selling" them) and I offered what I thought was a good deal at slighly less than 1/2 price; if I use the tickets myself, I would not have anyone to pay my parking fee.

Left the ball in her court, sorta hoping she doesn't reply!

Thanks for the opinions, I am up in the air what to do now

If she figures she can get them cheaper thru her work, let her go that route. Sell yours on Craigslist or Ebay. That way, you'll both get what you want & there won't be anyone feeling afterwards like, "I could've gotten a better deal" or "I could've gotten a better price for them", kwim? Just my opinion tho. ;) Hope it works out for both of you. :)

7|4|they are your tickets so you set the price. This garbage about giving them to her, knocking off parking money and paying you in a month is saying that she wants to be in charge of this transaction|suezz|clearys@comcast.net|07:43:39|07/28/2009|

You need the money for your own vacation so you get the money you want for them if not from her than from the open market. Sometimes families are selfish

9|6|At this point....I would say a friend offered me $66 for them (since they ARE a $110 value) and tell her the friend needed them soon. And then ask if she wants them for $50 or not...that being her cousin you are willing to take the $15 loss to sell them to her at $50|Barb09|Barb0969@AOL.com|09:56:40|07/28/2009|

Tell her you need the money by this Sat. at whatever time. If no money, then list them for sale.

Please leave feedback if we have traded.

I personally think that no matter who buys the tickets you should get the price of your entry to dutch wonderland with your tickets to Hershey at least that why should you pay to go somewhere else when you have tickets to a specific place that way your admission is at least free 12|1|Here's what I would do...|Jessiesgirl81|sdipi607@verizon.net|11:28:38|07/29/2009|

Sounds like you live in PA???
Anyway, Go with just you & your two kids. Use the tickets for yourself & your oldest child & pay the child's price for the youngest. Not sure if you can still do it BUT if you park near the free chocolate tour building there is no parking fee (unless they changed it). Either way, you earned those tichets. Even if it costs you $30.00 for the child's ticket & $10.00 to park the wonderful time you & your children will have is PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
