you should talk to your doc about using this. the way it works is cleans out the colon because fecal matter has weight but once you start eating and producing fecal matter that comes back on. it is not a good idea to use alot because it can cause an electolite imbalance in your system.

there was a good article in the August ALL you magazine issue about using these type of products. 4|1|My DH takes acai berry supplement, but not for weight loss...he takes it for the antioxidants and increase in energy.....there isnt any added components to cleanse the colon though. I agree with petunia, colon cleansers can be detrimental to your overall health (they can remove electrolytes from your body, cause dependence on laxatives to have bowel movements, etc....). You should always consult with your doctor before adding 'medicinal' or 'therapeutic' supplements to your regimine. |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:36:51|07/23/2009|

All articles say if you eat right your body will naturally cleanse itself and that stuff does not "stick" to the intestines like they say on those commercials for cleanser. I would highly recommend you ask your doctor before using a cleanser. And at the same time you can talk to them about acai.

One thing is our news has had reports on the acai products and those infomercials. Mostly people are complaining about getting hooked into the "auto" refill and having their credit card billed over and over even though they try to cancel. So if you can't buy it "off the shelf" your most likely gonna have problems too.

Like Joy says, I'd see your Dr.

7|2|Yes, Jen is right! Dont order acai online, it is a nightmare! Just buy it directly from a healthfood or nutritional supplement store (my DH buys his at GNC)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:46:37|07/23/2009|

ETA: My DH buys the 100% acai berry juice, no additives and no preservatives, it has to be refrigerated...actually tastes good too :) He takes the recommended amount once a day. He is out of the juice right now, or I'd look to see what the amount is that is recommended....but I know it's not much, like maybe 1 TBS or 1 oz??
