I'm a nervous wreck!!! I'm giving my oldest daughter a baby shower last of Aug. and i'm at a loss for nice inexpensive games to play.. it would have to be games that can go thru a heck of a lot of ladies relatively smoothly... This is our first grandchild after trying to get pregnant for years and i'm SO excited but scared to death about giving this shower.. There's going to be some ladies that will be watching for mistakes... you know the kind... I suppose I will google it if I need to, but I thought i'd ask you wonderful ladies here first.. :) Thanks for any tips and help...

There are classics like guess how big the mom's belly is using string, etc
Some of the ones I've done at the last few showers including the one I hosted for my sister:
1. Safety pins in rice. You fill a bowl with a bag of rice and a ton of closed safety pins. The lady gets blind folded and has to pull as many pins out and place them on the table in front of her. It's way harder than you think.
2. Break the water. Freeze tiny plastic babies in ice cube trays. They can not smash, bite or stomp the ice cube. The baby must be melted out. Who can melt it the fastest?
3. Take blank stickers and write famous moms on them like Michelle Obama, Eve, Brooke Shield, etc. As each lady comes in they get a sticker on their back with a famous mom. Asking only yes and no questions who can figure out their sticker first.
4. There are a ton of printable games. Everything from baby bingo to personalized crossword puzzles about the parents to be.

You freeze lil bitty babies in an ice tray each in it's own lil ice cube everyone gets one in a cup whoevers water breaks ( melts first ) gets a price They also did the dirty diaper game Everyone gets to pick a "dirty" diaper from a diaper pail and the one who's diaper has the "poo" wins and they played one where they wrapped a selection of items ) small things like rattles diaper cream etc) marked each package with a number and then passed them around and each guest had to guess what was in each package and write it down the one with th emost correct won hth 3|1|Ladies! I did babyfood jars with the lables off, they were passed around the circle and you had to guess what kind of food was in the jars. I also did a questionare paper where you had to guess baby questions about the parents, like their birthweight nicknames ect. I put together a basket, with lots of little things including lots of little socks and booties, you had to guess how many socks were in the basket. Seems like there was another game but can't remember right now. Congrats, been there with being a nervouse wreck, relax and enjoy this time.

If it weren't for $Tree, boy.. id be in dept up the "you know what"... $Tree has a whole line of baby shower stuff so i'm all set with everything except the food. My youngest daughter is doing the centerpieces and deco and i've got my daughter's mother in law in charge of the cake, a few others are pitching in to help with the food.. I didn't realize how much can go into a shower!

hand the guest string/torlit paoer.curling ribbion ect let them take as much as neede and the person who gets closest to the measument of her belly wins.
you give each guest a blank sheet of paper and marker/pen or pencil they then are told to put the paper on the top of there head and the the host has them dray a baby one step at a time you say draw the babys head ,now the body ,legs ,arms,now some hair a moth ect the one that draws the cuites baby wins(i still have the winning photo from my baby shower and my daughters 19)
you get new born or doll diapers and you put a differnt kind of chocolate in them place in the microwave for a few seconds so they mely and smuch arount each they are passed around they get one good look and a snif to see if they could guess i useulay do 6 kinds (kit/cat,sneakers,milkyway,alomd joy,reeces cups,carmello.
each guest is given a cloths pen when entering you can do two wasy you can say thet if you here them saying a specific word like baby if the guest says baby in any way the pin can be taken by another guess the one with the most safty pins wins we have also do folded arms and crossed legs so if the guest crosses or folds theere legs someone can steal the safty pin only choose one thing to do .
you play like hot potato only no potato you use one of the solid choc diaper its kind fun to see grown ladys play this game
at my nieces it was so funny she plaied musical chairs the music was differnt sounds of crying babies.
on my nieces invite they had bring a package of diapers or wipes and get entered into a special drawing any guest the came with thoes items got there name into a drawing she had 3 very nice items (princess house,yankee candles and a picnic basket) these were new items she had gotten as gifts that she wasnt going to use)she got 3 cases of wipes and 10 packs of diapers you can also do something not so expensive like bring a personal hygine item for the baby,bring a hat or a pair of socks .
