I know that must be a hard thing to think about, but I can tell you that when I die I hope that I am surrounded by the people who love me the most. Take comfort in the fact that you being there for her was probably so comforting to her.

I am convinced my Mom waited till I finally left her for a few minutes to give a report on her to my daughter and my cousins who were in the waiting room. She was in and out of consciousness but would rally when I told her I loved her and she told me the same. Drs didn't know how she was even able to talk, never the less be conscious, as her heart wasn't even beating..was just like a blob of jello quivering in fact. I too am very very grateful I was able to be with her at the end.
Didn't mean to hijack this thread but wanted you to know I had a similar situation and you are not alone going thru this. Prayers going up right now for you, your family and for the Lord to take care of your Mom. ((HUGS)) to you and God will get you thru this and give you strength to do that..

no matter how old you are...though it's difficult now, it will give you great comfort that you were able to say your final words with your mother. My mother passed away unexpectedly three years ago, she died on the highway all by herself....I never got to say good bye and it haunts me to this day. She was only 57 and my best friend. I dream of her alot and most of my dreams are centered around me asking her to forgive me and telling her I love her.
