About a week ago, I saw a bushy tail sticking out of the drainage ditch between our yard and the neighbor's. A few minutes later, momma skunk and FIVE baby skunks came out of the ditch and headed towards the road. I *thought* they were all soooo cute, scuffling towards the road together like they were one unit. Before I could get my camera, they crossed the road and went into the field.
Well, the last two nights it smells like they're camped in our basement! The scent is so strong it's making me gag! Blech!

geez, a raccoon don't emit that smell, I didn't think on it that way.
