It went well. They actually released her yesterday!
Answered prayer - they didn't have to cut too deeply in order to remove the two masses that they needed to get out. There was major concern that they would have to cut into her chest muscle which could have really affected her ability to use her arm. But since they didn't have to operate too deeply, they didn't have to do this! Yeah!
As for the cancer, I guess we just have to wait and see what happens. Because it had returned so quickly, I imagine they'll be keeping a closer eye on it now.
She still has an issue with something on her thyroid which will be the next thing to tackle. They will be removing her thyroid to see if she has cancer there (they had biopsied it and said that it wasn't cancer related to the breast cancer, but that it still could be cancer). I don't know how long it will be before they do that, but I imagine they won't want to wait too long given the possible implications.

And she was up and around. She looks so tiny and frail these days....she's shrunk at least a couple of inches over the last few years.
So much has changed in only 8 years -- my mom looks like my grandma now.
