My friend called me today and said she got a random letter from her homeowners insurance company. They will not be renewing her policy. Please note- she has a clean record no claims. They feel Long Island is due for a big one and want to get rid of some homeowners. Is this legal? Can a company just drop you for no reason. Hope you can give me some info to help my friend. Barbara 1|1|Found an interesting article online (link inside)......also, your friend should call her state's insurance regulations board and ask just to get the details on this, it may vary slightly from state to state.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:54:36|07/12/2009|

Amen." 3|1|Likely quite legal. Do have her share the letter with the press though. Bad publicity isn't a good thing for a company right now. Which insurer was it? This was before State Farm withdrew from the state of Florida, but we were cancelled due to living within five miles of the Gulf of Mexico. Everyone in my neighborhood is slowly being dropped for no reason by their insurance carrier. Three neighbors were most recently dropped by Allstate and Liberty Mutual. It's a joke in the nighborhood.....we go for a walk, see a neighbor and ask well....did you get your notice today? Apparently all insurance companies are letting customers go who live within a certain distance from the ocean. Heck! Even our insurance agent was cancelled by his own company! Luckily, we were able to find another company...or course at a little higher rate.

I love my computer because my friends live in it.
