It has been a year since I filed.. finally got the denial.. called a lawyer, I go tomorrow.. Im a nervous wreck.. Why can't things ever be easy? I will be having a panic attack before I go tomorrow, I know it already.. why can't SSD realize that since I can't drive, have vision impairment, impaired motor skills and impaired judgment, along with the anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and the bi-polar, there is no possible way I can work?? They said I am able to work, my question is doing what? Sorry for the vent, needed to get that all out to calm myself down, as I know there has to now be a hearing and in front of a judge.. i'm scared as all hell....

I know a little about this. If you do not have a listed impairment, it is much harder to get SSD. Uusually three tries.
If you have a listed impairment, it is much easier.
My husband's case took the three tries. We knew he was severely injured, but did not know that he had a Traumatic Brain Injury, which is a listed impairment.
My adult daughter's condition (Osteomyelitis) is a listed impairment. Her application was approved on the first try.

I have neuropathy,congestive heart failure,thyroid disease,depression,blind in one eye, i also have a hernia, 2 ruptured disk in my neck.

As someone said three times is the charm according to my lawyer. My husband is currently on his second appeal, and awaiting his herring date. He has dystoina. Which is not on the books, but all of his doctors agree, he can not work.
It can take upto a year, to process EACH APPEAL. It is all so fustrating. But I will say, having a lawyer is KEY. I will pray for you. Please pray for us as well. I am layed off for 4 weeks every August. This year, are layoof weeks increased, as the school I work for, is cutting costs. For the first time I will have to swallow my pride and apply for FOOD STAMPS. I don't think we can sink any lower than that = ((
