we have a stone fireplace and need to clean the soot from the stone. tried a few things but nothing really takes it all off. Oxy clean (rest his soul) didnt even touch it.

amonia to clean the quary tiles in front of mine. Might try that but use in a small area first.

when I was in Catholic school as akid we each had to bring in a cleaning rag and cleaner at teh end of the year. (where was child label laws then...LOL) and mom sent in Spic N Span. It ate the green paint right off the book case...LOL...Still remember that
