I have gotten them, since I was a little kid, when I eat pineapple. So I have always considered myself allergic to pineapple, and do not eat it. Yesterday, I was eating some fresh strawberries, and have a sore today. They hurt something awful, and have never found anything, that really helps with them. Anyone have some advice, or thoughts. It would be appreciated. Donna
Also the person, who washed the strawberries, was no longer at work, so I have yet to rule out, that they may have come in contact with pineapple some how.

But they're more like canker sores. I get one in the same area every month near my period. Hormonal? Perhaps. I take Yaz birth control and they began when I started taking it. They last 5 or 6 days and are very painful.
Occasionaly I'll get a raised taste bud (that's the only way I can describe it) after eating strawberries, banana & pineapple. But only on occasion. Usually I can eat those fruits fine, other times I cannot. Those last less than a day, though.
Strange....I wonder what others have to say....

and I'm a guy! So, for me, it isn't because I'm on my "period" -- LOL. I really like Pineapple, but don't eat it all the time. But these sores will appear out of the blue one day and last for almost a week. They look rather whitish in color near the tip of my tongue. I went to the doctor one day to ask about this problem. The doctor told me it was a type of non-sexual Herpes (sort of like canker or cold sores I guess). He prescribed some ointment in a small tube and told me to smear a bit of this ointment on the sores, coating them with the stuff. Well...the ointment turned to paste when I tried to coat the sores on my tongue. The ointment would then not stay on the tongue, but kept gumming up and sort of turning into little balls of goo which I spit out.

matter what brand. I can eat sour cream and onion, bbq etc..but not plain old chips. Takes a loooong time to get rid of those sores if I do. No fun at all for sure..
Edited to add...forgot to say if I eat too many fresh red tomatoes I will get sores in my mouth too. Think it's from the acid in them. There is a med that takes the pain away for a little while its called kanka its kind of like a numbing agent and that eases the pain for alittle bit. When i get them i always rinse my mouth with listerine medicated it burns like crazy but it seems to get rid of the sores faster or if i dont have listerine i rinse my mouth with peroxide.
i am sorry you have these because i know how painful these are and i also get this about a week before my period thats how i know its my time

cause it could be something serious. My mom had a sore spot on her tongue (tiny spot) and after a few weeks she went to Dentist for a cleaning and the Dentist sent her to Dr. and it was cancer. This was early September and we buried her in April.
