I LOVE my Motorola Razr phone...it's now over 3 years old. It is gently used, a few cosmetic scratches, etc. but in great shape for the daily use it gets. But now I need a new battery since it won't stay charged for more than about 12 hrs (if I'm lucky). Battery is about 40 bucks at Best Buy. More at the AT&T store (I don't remember how much they told me but I was shocked to say the least). So...question, I saw a T-Mobile Prepaid brand spanking new one at (I think) Target On sale. Does anyone know if I can take my AT&T sim card and plop it in the T-Mobile pepaid phone and Poof it will work? That way I'll have a new phone, new battery, etc. and maybe another 3 years life. I could easily get a new phone at AT&T as I have no contract but I can't get a Razr and they are pushing for all the extra text etc. features...DON'T NEED ANY OF THAT I like my phone and like my plan as is! I just want another phone like the one I have and LOVE already.

Thanks,

1|1|I do know you can use the AT&T Go Phones and put your sim card in there. That's what the AT&T rep told my|qponsandy|qpons4trade@ameritech.net|09:42:36|06/29/2009|

g/f to do when she didn't want to lock into another contract and and she has done it and it works.

I'm not sure about using the T-Mobile phones with your sim card. I want to say "no" but I'm not 100% sure. You might want to call the AT&T rep and asked them if you could use the phone with your sim card.

If you do find out it works, please post here.

Sandy 2|1|since it's a t-mobile phone you MIGHT have to have it UNLOCKED........|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|10:00:26|06/29/2009|

unlock codes are sold for pretty cheap on ebay. i'd do a search there and ask a seller a question and see if he has a code to unlock the phone or if it even needs to be unlocked. they were really nice when i needed one unlocked and answered all of my questions BEFORE i bought the code. hth

I'm still shopping around but nice to know I have a few options of AT&T or T-Mobile and can keep an eye on both prices.

5|4|wait jennifer...... you REALLY need to find out if the t-mobile pay as you go phones are locked..........|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|20:00:52|06/29/2009|

if they are you MUST unlock them before you can use them with at&t.

cell companies started locking phones about 5 years ago and they will NOT work on other mobile lines unless they are unlocked.

i'm not sayting that all phones are definatly locked but most are, i JUST bought a tmobile phone for hubby for father's day and it was indeed locked to tmobile, we have at&t and it would NOT work until we had it unlocked.

just be sure you check before you spend the $ and then find out you will need to spend anywhere from $6 - $40 to unlock it. hth
