After 10 years of marriage, eight children and one successful reality show, Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed initial divorce paperwork, according to a report.
The couple submitted documents for a legal separation at the Bucks County Courthouse in Reading, Penn., on Monday, People magazine is reporting.
Jon was photographed on Sunday celebrating Father's Day with his children. Kate was not present.
A promo for the couple's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" reality show says the couple plans to announce "life-changing decisions" on a special episode on Monday night.

the times I have seen the show and how she treated him. I am not a regular watcher but have seen it quite a few times and each time she is a very demanding, in total control person in that relationship. She tends to put him down as well and anyone..male or female..can only take so much of that. Jon himself said last night that he always let her run the relationship and do what she wanted and he finally got the nerve/had enough of it. She won't relenquish her 'control' of things so doubt if the relationship can be 'fixed'...has to be a give and take on BOTH sides of any relationship.
I have seen the very same thing happen in family, friends and even my ex's marriage..all ended in divorce when one person was so controlling in the marriage like that. Add in the fame and constant pressures/papparatzi (sp?), all the kids etc and that is a LOT for even a well balanced marriage to survive.
I wish them the best and hopefully they can at least remain friends and put the kids first still after all is said and done. I know they say kids are first now, but divorces can be very ugly even with the best intentions and have to remember there is a lot of money etc at stake here to work out in the divorce. and having sex with her in her parent's house, and then lying about it. And just how stuped is this girl? She thoughthe wasn't married anymore? C'mon, you can do better than that! You went to college, after all! He was out and about because he is a child that did not want to grow up.
Cheating is a choice and it tells more about the cheater than the cheated on spouse. I suppose Kate made him pull out his d*&#, huh?
And I felt sorry for Kate, having to be married to a big baby that needed constant direction, would not take responsibilty and had to be told to do everything, that is VERY passive aggressive. All he had to do was decide to grow up before he did all this stuff. I don't think he spent much time with the kids at all and when he was together with them and Kate he abdicated ALL responsibility and left everything up to her.
He is a lazy good for nothing cheat who made sure to make her look bad; she played into it because I bet she could always see all the work that needed to be done and decided to do it no matter what it took. This happens to alot of women, we just don't see it played out on TV.
If men abdicate their responsibilities women usually pick the responsibilities up, rather than let their chldren suffer and everything fall to pieces.. IMHO Jon's laziness, self centeredness, passive-aggressive tendencies, manipulative nature and whiny self-centeredness played a HUGE part in this whole fiasco. Lots of men like him are fun to be with but once you marry them, their bad habits make you really sorry. The lesson here is that having kids does not make a person like Jon grow the heck up!
I stopped watching the show because you could see this train wreck from a mile off, and I bet Kate wishes she had started divorce proceedings before Jon did his best to make her look like a control-freak buzz-killing c*ck blocker.
