I'm thinking about a new floor in my bathroom and would like to replace the old toilet and vanity at the same time. Home Depot would install the floor but they want $100 to install the new toilet and I don't even know how much extra the vanity would be (because I wasn't considering a new vanity at the time we talked to HD).

Is installing the toilet alone worth $100 (the toilet only cost $109 from Sam's Club!) or do you think I could find a handyman to install it cheaper? DH is disabled and can't do it.

A neighbor told us last night that it should only take an hour or two to install both the toilet and the vanity when they're being replaced because all the hook-ups are already there (as opposed to a new build).

Any suggestions would be very welcome. 1|1|Vanity is easy toilet can be tricky but 1-2 hours is a good estimate for|tollman62|thebossatnight@yahoo.com|10:11:29|06/19/2009|

a simple install. Get the best flange for the toilet (thats the ring that a toilet sits on) Go on freecycle and ask if there is someone who does this stuff on the side I now a lot of service people who do small jobs outside of there company work.

email me if interested

I am looking for offers in concealed cash ayor Stamps or BTFE or make an offer in????

I mail all my trades from the post office and get a receipt.

you always hear noises in the dark when you work at night 2|1|IMHO $100 to install a toilet is a bit much.....I agree with Steve, find someone to do it for cash cheaper....is there someone in your church who is handy? Or ask your friends and neighbors if they have someone they use for odd jobs like this...or a retired plumber would be a good choice :) If we lived near you, my DH would do it for free for you...he loves to do stuff like that, lol. |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:56:24|06/19/2009|

You can generally trust Home Depot's work. Can you really trust some Tom, Dick or Harry that you don't know? Thats how we got messed up with this house. I really don't want to see someone else in the same prediciment that I am in.
Also try Lowe's if you have one nearby. I find some thing s there cheaper than HD. 5|1|Thanks for the responses!|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|17:23:26|06/20/2009|
