we all have strep but trades are finished, taped up and ready to mail and should go out tomorrow.
my time in the house is up but dashi is down for the count and this was his week at camp friendly for autistic kids,
I am so disappointed he got sick, there is canoeing and kayaking and all kinds of water sports, it's a shame he will
miss this time. I feel worse too that he went one day and maybe made the other kids sick.

you all have been waiting a long time and I apologize about this but the headache and laryngitis and tiredness have really
gotten me down. I was glad to find them and excited to be able to fill the long standing orders, and next time out I will take
the risk and get them first and then post, this has made me tense and anxious and it's always in my mind that I owe, I owe, (it's
off to work I go, cruising Mcdonalds all across the globe... lol)

the great thing is they expire 12/31!!! 1|1|Don't worry Glennie! They will get where they are going, I'm happy to wait,|Mackiesmudder|Mackiesmudder@aol.com|22:36:15|06/16/2009|

Poor Dashi! I feel so bad for him. Sending my very best thoughts and hope he is feeling good again before the end of the week. Maybe he can make it to the last day or two or something at least?

You've got your hands full too, so hoping it is an easy and calm week. Hang in there. Vanessa 4|1|thank you ladies, I think they have all arrived?|glennie58|glenn_scott@alumni.ksg.harvard.edu|20:36:47|06/22/2009|

lol

he went monday and thursday and friday and on tuesday they went kayaking!!!! arrggghhhh

he didn't care but you know how we want our kids to have every good experience LOL

for the next two weeks he is going to Camp Grace (we are so poor he got scholarships to both lol)
they will teach social skills and today he went in the pool - he told me he wore a life jacket

Of course my head is still foggy and I was the last parent there (LATE! yikes!) but one of the counselors thanked me for sending Dashi there and he is THE CAMP GRACE CAMPER OF THE DAY !!!!

wowie this is so cool, the last full week of school he was his class SUPERSTAR!! LOL

He did not get to stay at his fabulous school (in a really wealthy neighborhood, great teachers) but we are appealing, they really like him)

For any parents of autistic kids, was there a time when they got over a hump or something? I have to say this is a far cry from the days when I used to cry, wondering if he would ever talk, eat by himself, not have a tantrum, go potty on the potty (trained at 4yrs 9 mos, couldn't fit diapers lol), or learn his alphabet, or answer a direct question, or sleep the night thru, or sit still in a chair in the theater (still working on these rofl)

When they said they were glad to have him and I saw the award in his backpack my first thought was but will they like him when he is more like the Dashi I know? Or has a hard day because he had a sleepless night? lol

what, me worry? 5|1|I got mine and thanks so much and hope that all of you are doing much better|bcmunns|bcmunns@bellsouth.net|20:38:54|06/22/2009|

I think one aspect of autism is that they have a hard time understanding their own existence, he aske all the time if I am his mommy, if I will always be, who he is, and looks at his photo books all the time, I think I read it's something about placing themselves and learning who they are, and I can still remember the day he came home from the Baudhuin Pre-School and before he could get off the bus he said

hi mommy!
it's ME, Dashiell

I was thinking well, who else would you be? but I get it now, he really GOT IT that day, that HE IS DASHIELL

ROFL

(and thanks to all you ladies who helped me pick out that digital camera and get that free memory card lol, kristy, joy, everybody, that was a hard decision but probably the best thing I ever bought, we literally spend hours every week looking at photos, now printed on copy paper, lol)
