I am not in Iowa but my Mom lives there, and so obviously I have visited. I guess I don't know what the twin lakes are in Iowa, I know in Minnesota. Anyway one thing that is really neat about the area is all the fireflys. We may get the occasionaly one here in Wyoming but Iowa has tons it is sooo neat!! We spent so much time trying to catch a couple. Anyway have a fun trip!!!

It is just a ways away from Fort Dodge (like 20 minutes I think??) Anyway I think they have a corn field maze that you could go through, I didn't get to go to it, but heard it was kinda neat. Also I think there might be a casino in the area, but not for sure. I bet the lakes will be great! Have fun!!

Fort Dodge has an interesting Flea market at the Fair Grounds. Kind of Hillbilly but you can find some interesting things (old stuff- like a garage sale...not new stuff like big city garage sales.)
Adventureland Theme Park in Des Moines...kind of old and dirty but is kind of fun bc of the short lines. There is a casino right next door- Prairie Meadows.
Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines has a fun kids program. Maybe not so fun for an adult though?
Butterfly Gardens- indoor Arboreum at Iowa State University campus in Ames- near Des Moines. Have some awesome plants if you are into that. If you are younger, ISU campus will have alot of fun stuff to do.
Waterloo has a good water park but it is a long way from Fort Dodge- Lost Island. Another casino right next door to this- Isle of Capri. Tractor stuff in Waterloo for John Deere.
Check out Lake Okaboji (sp?) and Spirit Lake, both are sort of near Fort Dodge, and they will have some fun stuff listed for the time you will be in the area.
And finally, if you have any low key bands you like, be sure to check their websites in case they are going to be at any of the local fairs while you are here. We get alot of Christian bands in my area in the summer at different festivals.
That is about all I can think of.
