I have to take the kids to see there dad this weekend in Arkansas technically im only supposed to meet him half way but seeing as this is the first weekend and all i have decided that i am going to be going to spend the weekend with a friend down there while he has the kids for the weekend i want to be close by since it is the first weekend and all and im nervous as can be!!!!! Kids should be getting home from summer school soon and we are hitting the road for our 6 hour drive back to Arkansas. OMG i am so nervous!!!!

The drive down here went pretty smoothly as did the dropping off of the kids. Although the ex wanted to know if i wanted to go out to dinner with him tommorow night i was like HUH!!!!!!! And he wanted me to come over and spend the day with him tommorow, Needless to say im not going i brought the kids here for him to spend time with him not for him to see me thats for sure!! As far as having to make this drive every other weekend i only have to drive half way every other weekend which is a 3 hour drive one way so it will be a 6 hour drive on friday and a 6 hour drive on sunday. We will see how it goes this weekend.

Well for the most part i enjoyed my weekend with my friend well all of it with her I enjoyed. But then comes the trouble. My ex actually called me and wanted me to come spend the night with him i said uh i dont know about you but i got my divorce papers so that would be a no. I said i will meet you and so and so at 3pm to pick up the kids on Sunday he says we will see about that im thinking here we go. So Sunday rolls around its 3pm no Ex no kids. I call him he says were running late just come up to the house and get them i dont even have all there stuff together. So you know me im stupid what do i do i go up there big, big, big mistake. He hadnt even started getting the kids ready he had been telling the kids the whole time they were waiting on me to get there so we could go swimming so when i told the kids it was time to go of course they get mad at me and start crying. Oh well they will get over it right. So im getting there bags together and Ex says lets talk i say i have nothing to talk about i just want to get on the road as we have a long drive. This is when it turns UGLY!!! He grabs me by my arms and wont let go i said you better take your hands off me right this insant so he finally does and i immediatley leave the house wouldnt take another step back inside but he wouldnt bring the kids out to me so i said fine im going to go get a sheriff and have him come back with me so i can get the kids and leave and before i can get in the door of my car he has the keys out of my ignition because yes i was stupid and left them in there. So i just grab my cell and call instead. So the sheriff ended up having to come up there just so that i couldnt get the kids. The sad thing about all this is that he wasnt mad because he didnt want to give the kids back he was mad because i didnt want to sit and talk and try to work things out. Im sorry but in my eyes there is absolutely nothing to work out between us. I will never ever let him put his hands on me again or treat me the way that he has treated me for so long im just not doing that. I have moved on and bettered my life for me and the kids and thats all that is to it. So from now on we will be meeting at a very public place to exhange the children because i absolutely refuse to go back to his house ever again after all of that.

But you really NEED to report that he'd grabbed your arm & took your car keys as that's domestic abuse & intimidating a victim. Make sure you also report that he refused to bring them to where he was supposed to & made you come to his house to get them, on top of you having to call the Sheriff's Dept. Definitely NEVER go alone again to meet him or pick up the kids. ALWAYS have someone w/you EVERY time from here on in, even if it's in a neutral public place. If he was abusive & controlling before you left him, the abuse & controlling behavior won't necessarily stop just because you're no longer together. I hate to say this but please don't take it the wrong way - he's not so much concerned about the kids (obviously if he did that crap to you in front of them) as he is about continuing to try & control you. :(

and police called, etc....and now my 2 oldest (& now graduated), whom are boys, hate me! The oldest came this past Friday to attend his brothers graduation ceremony and then came over to my house for a little family get together we had for the graduate and we all were reminicing about the graduate when he was youger and the oldest kept saying under his breath "I don't remember anything of my life" I finally started saying things he had done when younger and asked "do you remember this, that, etc..." and he'd say barely, blah blah blah then he said I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING BECAUSE I HAD SUCH A TERRIBLE LIFE. OMG!!! He blames me for the divorce and that his dad wanted nothing to do with him or his brother for the 1st year after the divorce. NICE, huh. That's the thanks I get for getting myself & them out of a violent, degrading household. I have dedicated my whole life to my kids and their well being. I waited 3 years after the divorce to even date or go out once in a great while and then I only did it when and IF they went with their dad for the weekend. I NEVER brought a man home until or IF we had dated for a year. I worked full time, they either went to an after school daycare at their school or to my parents house until I got home from work. We ate supper EVERY night together either just us or with my parents, I helped them with school work, we went out to eat, to the park, to the movies, biking/walking/sledding/skiing/camping/fishing. Like I said I gave my whole life to them and this is the payback I get. Makes me so upset. I cried 1/2 the day Saturday, 1stly because my 2nd oldest graduated & will be going to school in Arizona and 2ndly because of my oldest sons comments.
