Just out push mowing the side yard when out of nowhere I got it on the back of the leg just above the knee,when I turned around five of the neighbors dogs where coming at me so I started kicking at them(got a couple real good)Four pugs and the lab.The neighbor was just standing there yelling at them from her yard and finally after getting a couple kicks in they crossed back into the other yard and she put them back into the house.What is so strange is that she never came back over to ask if I was ok or that she was sorry(no nothing)Ok ladies it was thru the pants and into the skin a little puncture and a little blood but not really all that bad so I finished the mowing(don't forget now I'm a guy)The more I think about this the more I want to do somthing about it,those dogs are nothing but trouble all times of the day running loose causing trouble.Should I expect things like this living in the country,WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO? 1|1|You need to file a police report and also find out if the dogs shots are up to date, my daughter was attacked in 2007, it really traumatized her~*~|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|19:49:06|06/04/2009|

shelter gets all the bite dogs. They have to BY LAW quarantine the dog for x amount of days and be checked for rabies. If the dogs results come back clean, the owners have to pay the fees, do the paperwork etc and most times get the dog back. However, if the dogs are a continued nuisance, they will get fined, quite possibly lose the dogs as well. BTW, Rabies shots painful, from what I understand. Are you sure which dog bit you? I would think then that an investigator would demand proof that the dog(s) are current.
Keep in mind too, rabies aside, that dogs have germy mouths too. I know if my poop eating beagle bit me, I'd be worried just a tad.
Also, reporting the dog bite may help if the dog bites in the future. Doggies get a free pass the first time. It is the second time that things start getting more serious for the dog.
But yes, I would think the dog would be quarantined for 10 days to see if it bore symptoms of rabies. The cost of that, if any, would be borne by that lady. You should also check into your homeowner's policy (and possibly hers?). Is it possible she did not know it bit you?
I'd think if you got an appt. with your doctor just to make sure it is ok that she would be responsible for the doctor bill and I also think then the doctor would help you with reporting the incident. 8|6|Oh my call them right away!!! You never know if that dog has all its shots or if he is sick!!! I would also go to your doctor so its documented... They can always give you something if any bacteria got in there..
